Iseul and Jimin's Childhood

The gentle sunlight of a summer afternoon filtered through the curtains of the Park household, casting a warm glow over the cozy living room where young Jimin and Iseul played together. They were inseparable, sharing a bond that only siblings could understand. Jimin, the older brother by two years, was always the protective one, looking out for his younger sister with a love that knew no bounds.

"Iseul, be careful!" Jimin called out as Iseul climbed onto the coffee table, her eyes gleaming with mischief. She grinned at him, unafraid of any consequences.

"Come on, oppa! It's fun!" she replied, jumping off the table with a laugh. She landed on the soft carpet, her giggles echoing through the room.

Just then, their mother, Mrs. Park, entered the living room. Her eyes widened in surprise and concern as she saw Iseul's dangerous leap. "Iseul, what are you doing? You could have hurt yourself!"

Iseul quickly hid behind Jimin, her small frame trembling slightly. Jimin, sensing her fear, stepped forward to shield her. "Mom, it was my idea. I told her to jump. I'm sorry."

Mrs. Park's expression softened as she looked at her son. "Jimin, you know better than to encourage such behavior. You both need to be more careful."

Jimin nodded, casting a reassuring glance at Iseul. She gave him a smile, relief washing over her. This scene played out many times in their childhood, with Jimin always stepping in to take the blame or cover up for his sister's mischief.

----

Jimin is now eleven, and Iseul is nine, they were running around, enjoying the swings and slides. They often spent their weekends here, playing games and sharing laughter.

"Push me higher, oppa!" Iseul called out from the swing, her feet kicking in the air.

"Alright, hold on tight," Jimin responded with a smile, giving her a strong push.

As Iseul soared higher, she laughed with glee. But as the swing reached its peak, she suddenly let go, trying to jump off mid-air. She landed awkwardly on the ground with a thud, scraping her knee.

Jimin rushed to her side, helping her up. "Are you okay, Iseul?"

A nearby mother, who had seen the incident, hurried over. "What happened here?" she asked, concern evident in her voice.

Before Jimin could explain, Iseul sniffled and pointed at him. "He pushed me too hard, I asked him to stop" she said, tears streaming down her face.

The woman gave Jimin a disapproving look. "You should be more careful with your sister," she scolded.

Jimin opened his mouth to protest but then closed it again, swallowing his words. He simply nodded, feeling the sting of injustice but knowing it was better to keep quiet while iseul was smirking.

----

A few years later, when Jimin was in middle school and Iseul was in the lower grade, another incident happened that left a lasting impact on their relationship.

It was recess, and the schoolyard was bustling with activity. Iseul had gotten into an argument with a classmate over a game they were playing. Voices were raised, and soon a teacher was called over to intervene.

"What's going on here?" the teacher demanded, looking at the two children.

"He pushed me," Iseul said quickly, pointing at the boy.

"I did not!" the boy retorted, his face red with anger. "She started it!"

Just then, Jimin, who had been on the other side of the yard, noticed the commotion and ran over. "What's happening?" he asked, looking from Iseul to the teacher.
