Bird?

A/N: This was a little blurb I wrote almost two years ago as a part of an assignment for an art class. We needed to record audio of someone reading something, whether it was something we wrote or something we found. To go with it, we needed to compile photos we took into a video. So, the end result of the writing with the imagery I think paints a very different picture than just the writing on its own. But here's the writing. I don't know. Enjoy.

He looked out the window and saw a bird peering in.

He was always fond of birds, but this one had an almost human-like gaze, as if it was staring into his soul. Unable to look away, he became uncomfortable.

The bird tilted its head and seemed to analyze him.

He broke the intense eye contact and looked anywhere else outside.

But the bird remained, and he couldn't ignore it.

He glanced back at the animal, who still seemed to be examining him. He felt like he was under some sort of spell. He was entranced, mesmerized.

But this time, he managed not to stare as long.

This time, he turned away from the window completely and went elsewhere.

Unable to shake the unnerved feeling caused by the bizarre encounter, he went back to the window minutes later.

Only, the bird was gone, leaving him to wonder if it was ever really there at all.
