"It's the first match of the second round!" Present Mic announced. My heart frantically beat in my chest as I watched my classmates on the cement platform. All Might's student versus Endeavor's son. This isn't going to be a quick match. "These two heroes in training have both been frontrunners in the Sports Festival! It's Midoriya versus Todoroki! But which of these rivals will advance to the next round? Begin!"
Todoroki started off strong with an ice attack, which was quickly demolished by Izuku breaking one of his fingers. The backlash from his power sent the shards of ice and the cold air spreading throughout the stadium. Holy shit, it's freezing in here!
"Wow! Midoriya managed to break Todoroki's insane opening move!" As the loud teacher commented on the fight, Izuku did the same thing to the next ice attack. "He countered again!"
An ice wall stood behind the red-and white-haired boy, preventing him from being blown out of bounds.
Izuku's mom is probably horrified, watching this fight right about now. Oh, another broken finger. He only has another five shots left to take his opponent out. Todoroki must be planning to wait until he's broken all of his fingers before sending him out of bounds. That's what I would've done if I were him.
Another ice attack broke the last finger on his right hand.
Immediately, Todoroki began to close the distance by running on a path of his ice. The green haired boy used a finger on his left hand to destroy the it, but that's what his opponent wanted.
Luckily, Izuku noticed, backing up before Todoroki landed where he once was. But not even that was enough. The ice followed him as he jumped back, ensnaring his red shoe. Now he's gonna have to break a sixth- oh no.
Izuku yelped in pain as he shattered his left arm to get out of the half and half boy's trap. His opponent was knocked back, ice shield and all, but was still inside of the boundaries.
For some reason, they temporarily stopped fighting, as they talked about something. Now that Todoroki's standing still, I can see that he's shaking. He's not using the fire aspect of his quirk, so his body is slowly frosting over. I wonder what his deal is.
More ice headed towards Izuku once the two were done speaking. What is he doing?! His arm and his fingers are broken, so he has no means of attack or defense! Why isn't he forfeiting?!
"Woah!" Present Mic shouted. "Todoroki continues his overwhelming attacks! Could this be his finishing move?"
Just as it was about to hit him, the ice shattered. How the hell did he do that?
As the dust cleared, I got my answer. HE USED HIS BROKEN FINGER?! If it was a life-or-death situation, I'd understand, but this is just a match. Sure, Recovery Girl could heal him, but there's only so much that she's able to do.
I have no idea what my boyfriend said, but whatever it was made Todoroki look much angrier. The half and half boy charged, although it was much slower than the last time. Must be from all that frost on his body.
Izuku then proceeded to use his quirk, landing a punch to Todoroki's stomach. In retaliation, his enemy was able to freeze his broken arm. The ice attacks had become slower, allowing the green haired boy to dodge easier.
I don't know how much more of this I can watch. He's probably running off of pure adrenaline now. My quirk may heal myself, but it doesn't dull my sense of pain. I usually don't notice the full extent of my injuries until after the fight if I happened to receive major wounds.
"Is that-" Present Mic had the same reaction as everyone else when Todoroki created a large fire with his left side. "He's using his fire!"
"Yes Shoto!" A loud shouting came from the crowd. Endeavor walked down the stairs, yapping about his son. "Have you finally accepted your purpose? That's it. Very good. This is the dawn of a new era for us. With my blood in your veins, you'll surpass me. You will live up to the reason I created you!"
That was... something. If Mirai did that to me, I think that I would've straight up died from embarrassment.
"Endeavor suddenly shouts words off... encouragement?" Even the announcer was confused. Yeah, that doesn't sound like encouragement to me. "What a doting father."
Todoroki's left side continued to burn, as he shot out an absurd amount of ice from his right.
Izuku's pant leg ripped itself apart, as he injured his leg to propel himself over the ice. Okay, this is way too far. And the teachers agreed too.
Just as the two launched themselves at each other, Cementos made five barriers between the two, which shattered, leaving the debris to scatter into the crowd and throughout the stadium. Even I had to use my quirk as a shield.
Before the smoke cleared from the arena's entry, where I was, Midnight announced the result. "There... Midoriya is... out of bounds. Todoroki wins; he advances to the third round!"
Holy shit! That was insane. I hope Izuku's alright. Oh shit, Todoroki's my next match if I win against Iida.
