"Still making up classes from your work study?" Ojiro questioned Izuku, Kirishima, and I as we stood near the exit of the main school building.
"Yeah!" Kirishima grimaced.
"Yes, sorry," Izuku frowned.
"We're so behind," I sighed.
"Aw, there's no need to apologize," the blonde smiled. "We'll handle the school festival prep while you catch up."
-Several Hours Later-
Our extra lessons were done for the day, so we were finally able to join the planning.
"Hey, you guys," Kirishima waved.
"Sorry we're showing up so late," Izuku apologized.
"We finally made up the classes we missed during our work studies, and now we can help out for real!" Ochaco tiredly grinned.
"Freedom!" I huffed.
"Ribbit!"
Iida gave us the rundown of their plan. Basically, some of us were playing instruments, some were dancing, and the rest were on special effects. The plan was great and all, except for the part when Katsumi told Kyoka that I had played the trumpet for several years. When you're homeschooled, you get bored enough to learn anything. I just happened to have the idea of annoying my brother in his office whenever I finished my schoolwork.
"So, we've decided to go with rave rock club music for our performance?" Tsu reiterated.
Kirishima looked confused. "Having Jiro on the base and Yaoyorozu on keyboards makes sense for sure, but..."
"Bakugo on the drums is kind of, uh, how do I put it...?" Ochaco thought out loud.
"A recipe for disaster?" I suggested.
"You got a problem with me?" Bakugo furrowed his brows.
Ochaco, Kirishima, and Tsu shook their heads 'no', while I nodded. He ain't doing nothing when Katsumi's here.
"Anyway, who's singing? That's the most important part." Katsumi began to open her mouth, before I covered it with my own hands, lowering my voice into a whisper. "I swear to God if you say that I was in chorus, I'm throwing you out the window." Turning back to the rest of the confused class, I closed my eyes, grinning. "I volunteer Kyoka! Her voice is pretty."
"Uh..." The purple haired girl took a few steps back.
"Lead singers get all the chicks," Mineta snorted. "I could do it."
"Just imagine a singing disco ball. C'est magnifique!" Disco ball? Is he planning to flash people on stage?
"Guys! Not to brag, but I'm a pretty awesome singer!" Kirishima bragged, before breaking into song. "Tough guy captain of the ship. Stand up tall. Cause you are the manliest..."
And tone deaf apparently.
"Yeah, that's not the right genre," Ochaco sweat dropped.
"Or the right rhythm," I cringed.
Mineta straight up barked into the mic, thinking he was singing. Aoyama wasn't any better, his voice sounding like someone with a smoker's lungs.
"I'm with (Y/n)," Toru urged. "It's gotta be you, Kyoka! When you were teaching Ochaco, (Y/n), and I to play instruments in your room, your singing was super cool! I know you'll bring the house down!" She tried to help me learn the guitar, but I gave up once I looked at the chords sheet.
"Come on," Kyoka argued. "It wasn't that great. Maybe we-"
"Hey, look, a mic!" Toru interrupted, pulling out a microphone with a stand out of nowhere. Thanks Momo!
"You know everyone wants to sparkle." Kyoka's voice is the most angelic sound to ever exist. A few of us may have heard her sing before, but we were still taken aback, as if it was the first time we'd heard her voice. "Like the stars in the night sky. In this wondrous place filled with all the dreams I've been wishing for. Waiting for the chance."
Slowly, the girl opened her eyes, seeing everyone's jaws on the floor.
"My ears are so happy!" The brunette jumped with happiness.
"You have such a sultry voice!" Mina complimented.
"I would buy out an entire stadium to hear you perform!" I giggled.
"All right!" Iida shouted. "I'd call this a unanimous decision!"
"Well." Kyoka's embarrassment made her cheeks red. "Let's set that aside, then. Now. We need guitars! I'm thinking two!"
"Oh, yeah!" Kaminari raised his hand. "Pick me! It's so cool to play instruments!"
"Let me strum!" Mineta pleaded.
Let me bash his head in with my trumpet case.
"I'd just break the strings," Kirishima pouted.
"Don't you dare volunteer unless you're gonna kill it, dimwit," Bakugo threatened.
"Yeah, I totally will." The yellow haired boy pulled out a guitar, strumming a few cords. Damn, that was good! "The guitar is the star of every rock band."
Mineta... couldn't even reach the strings. Womp womp.
"Oh yeah," Katsumi nodded. "Richie and I are gonna be the coolest dancers."
"I guess it's not socially acceptable to make the crowd's ears bleed, so I guess that means I need to play at a normal volume," I frowned.
Out of nowhere, Tokoyami played an even better rift on his guitar. It's always the emo kids with the weirdest secrets (in a good sense).
The pervert was sulking in the corner, when Mina approached him. "Mineta! Will you be a part of the dance team if I can get a harem together?"
"The school festival can't come soon enough!"
"She's joking, right?" I whispered to the white-haired girl.
"I hope so."
After hours and hours, the final plan was finished... at one in the morning.
"Everybody's role in the festival has been decided!" Iida smiled, ready to go to bed. "We've got the band team (Kyoka, Tokoyami, Kaminari, Bakugo, Momo, and me). And the effects team (Koda, Kirishima, Sero, Aoyama, and Todoroki). And the dance team (Aoyama, Sato, Ojiro, Tsu, Mina, Mineta, Izuku, Toru, Shoji, Katsumi, Iida, and technically Richie). Rest up, guys! Starting tomorrow we're hard at work!"
"Yeah!"
