Ectoplasm quickly surrounded the two with his clones. If it wasn't for Tsu climbing onto the wall and pulling Tokoyami to safety, then they might've failed within the first minute.

    "Nice!" Ochaco exclaimed.

"An escape only the two of them could pull off!" Izuku beamed.

    "Tsu is awesome!" I grinned.

"That's good communication," Recovery Girl chimed in. "They're talking to each other. It may not seem like much, but it's important. I don't just mean having a sidekick or teammate that you know you match well with. Real heroes need to be able to communicate with anyone."

"Um so... we were talking about these finals and how each student is supposed to be facing their weaknesses," the green haired boy started. "So, what do Tokoyami and Asui have to work on? I'm having trouble seeing how Mr. Ectoplasm's quirk is a bad match-up against theirs."

"Well, it's not good... for Tokoyami, at least."

"Huh? Why do you say that?" the brunette questioned.

"Keep watching, you'll see," Recovery Girl replied. Tokoyami and Tsu went for the escape route but were easily stopped once more clones were spawned. The bird boy easily fought them off alongside our frog friend, but they had come to realize that the clones kept reappearing. Their teamwork is really impressive. "Tokoyami is quick and can attack from afar, allowing him to keep his distance. Those are all strengths. But, looking at that another way, it means..." She paused, indicating for one of us to answer.

"He's weak at close range," I answered.

    "That's correct."

"Wow." Ochaco brought her hand to her mouth as she thought out loud. "I never thought about his powers like that."

"And Mr. Ectoplasm's clones can appear anywhere unexpectedly," my boyfriend muttered.

"On the other hand, there's Asui," Recovery Girl continued. "A stellar student with no clear weaknesses. She can provide support to her ally, as powerful as he may be. But she's important in another way, too. Her level-headedness and ability to provide emotional support are the key to them passing."

The two took out twenty eight of the thirty clones that Ectoplasm can produce at a time. Their chances of escaping were high, until a giant clone almost swallowed them whole. That is fucking terrifying. The clone restrained them.

Luckily, the two won after using Dark Shadow to put the restraint cuffs on one of his legs.

"Woah, they leg-cuffed him!" Ochaco smiled.

"Then they passed!" Izuku cheered, turning to the brunette and me. "They figured out a way to do it! Dark Shadow and Frog together-- what a great team!"

    "They're so smart!" I giggled.

Next was Iida and Ojiro's match against Powerloader. Taking a different route from the last group, they fled to get help.

"Now that I think about it..." Izuku looked between Ochaco and I. "You're the only pair that actually talk to each other as friends on a daily basis. I wonder why you two were put together."

"Beats me." I shrugged my shoulders. It has to be because of how she's acting recently, but if it is what I think it is, then I don't want to out her now out of all places. Ochaco is still my friend.

"I haven't a clue." Her eyes darted to the ground, as she held onto her arm.

"Hey, our match is soon, maybe we should-"

"Hey! Yaoyorozu and Todoroki are up next!"

I guess she doesn't want to hear my plan. This is why I like solo missions or working with Katsumi.

Our homeroom teacher fought next against Momo and Todoroki. She was continuously making nesting dolls, probably so she could tell when Eraserhead was nearby. The two students seemed to be talking about something before being found by Mr. Aizawa. He instantly captured Todoroki before running after Momo, who ended up turning back. Throwing her nesting dolls at Mr. Aizawa, they exploded, covering the area in a bright white light. She ate and left no crumbs! The two ran away and blocked the teacher with an ice wall to carry out her plan.

"Huh, why isn't Mr. Aizawa going after them?" Ochaco questioned.

"He might have overused his eyes," Izuku pondered.

"So, she must've noticed it too," I muttered.

    "Noticed what?"

"Ever since the incident at the USJ, Mr. Aizawa hasn't been able to use his quirk as long or quickly," I explained. I had first noticed it in one of our previous training classes after the sports festival. My eyes were trained to be observant, considering my sniping job with the Commission, so it was quite hard to miss.

"Wait really?" The brunette tilted her head. "I didn't notice at all."

"It was subtle, but I picked up on it." Nervously, I rubbed the back of my head.

They created a distraction with mannequins, before launching a catapult with something that resembled Eraserhead's scarf. Once Todoroki lit his fire, the scarf tightened, restraining the man.

"My my," Recovery Girl smiled. "Turns out that man's a big softie after all."

Hound Dog then fought against Aoyama and Sero. They did not stand a chance. Basically, Sero was captured and Aoyama barely made it out of the exit.

Then, it was me and Ochaco versus Thirteen. This is a bad matchup for me. Not because I'm partnered with Ochaco. It's Thirteen's power that can suck all of the blood out of my body. It doesn't help that Ochaco never let me tell her my plan either.

Neither of us had an advantage against the hero without quirks, so we ran. This shitshow waiting to happen ended up with the two of us hanging from the railing, so we weren't sucked in by their vacuum quirk.

"Oh, man, but we were so close!" Ochaco shouted, as we held on for dear life.

"There's no way I'll let you get away that easily!" Thirteen said, as they approached us.

"It's getting even stronger the closer Thirteen gets!" The brunette wailed.

"I'm not great at combat but I am excellent at capturing."

They set us up for failure!

"If only you would've listened to my plan earlier," I frowned.

"Are you serious right now?!" She argued. "We're in big trouble here!"

"I have an idea." Extending the blade from my gauntlet, I readied myself to draw blood from my palm. "I just-"

    "Not right now, I'm thinking!"

I get she's stressed about the situation, but geez. "About Izuku Midoriya?" I'm not making this situation any better, but I can't stop now. "Is it... because you like him?"
