It had been a few days since our team up started, and I hadn't heard from Izuku since our last talk at the hospital. I was almost certain that Hawks was keeping this information withheld from me, since he knew about us. Some friend he is. I was only told when he took down a villain, not where.

I had lost count of how many villains I had shot once I hit the fifties. It's not even a dent in the list, and I don't even think they were Tartarus villains.

    Kaina... where are you?

Once nightfall hit, it began to rain. I can't use my quirk without my blood being diluted. Best Jeanist and Hawks drove with me in the back seat, since I wasn't able to fly. Worst decision ever.

Some villains were attempting to rob a warehouse, so Mr. Apple Bottom Jeans Tokyo drifted that bitch, causing me to smack my forehead against the window. He then released cables from the front of his car, using his quirk to restrain the two runners.

Endeavor took care of the grunts inside before coming out to meet us.

The four of us stood in a circle, in the pouring rain, congregating.

"As usual, there's nothing connecting these escapees to our actual target," Best Jeanist sighed.

"You'd think we would've been able to get some intel by this point in the search," Hawks added.

"No, his allies are probably hiding themselves rather than immediately resorting to crime," I thought out loud. "All For One doesn't seem like the type to tell his plans to lowly grunts."

"We'll double down our efforts," Endeavor responded.

A clanging noise sounded at our feet, as a metal pole rolled towards us. To my left, an angry crowd of citizens stood, holding dampened signs.

    "Disgraces! Get out of here!"

"We don't want your so-called help!"

"If you'd caught Shigaraki and the others when you were supposed to, these criminals would still be locked in their prisons."

Wow, if only we had thought of that!

"Take a good look at this town! You all turned it into hell!"

    "Endeavor, let's go," Hawks urged.

We began to head back to the car, as more voices shot back at us.

"I've been following reports on the news. They say Shigaraki was after someone other than you! Which means you're still hiding things from us. We can't trust you!"

Why should we trust people who blame us for the actions of the villains?!

An older man threw a water bottle at Endeavor, as he shouted at us for being cowards.

"The families of the people Dabi murdered were on TV! Did you see them?"

    "You created a monster!"

"Seeing your face makes me sick!"

Best Jeanist caught every piece of trash with his fibers, as we walked back to the car.

What the fuck! I was still stuck in the denim man's death trap... with Endeavor next to me. Hawks was in the front seat, on the phone with Edgeshot, who was helping with interrogations. He wasn't getting anywhere either.

    "No progress, I take it."

"If we keep driving in this direction, we'll catch up with Midoriya before long," Hawks admitted. We're really going to see him?! "Would it be better if no one figured out we're working together? People might start throwing things at him, too."

"Right," Endeavor spoke up. "Let's put some distance between us." Okay, I can see that none of these guys are girl's girls. "Deku has enough of a burden to carry as it is. Even if he's the one who chose this solitary path, we're still using him as bait to draw out the League. The least we can do is not make things worse for him."

"Yeah, but should we really be throwing all this on a singular child's shoulders?" I questioned.

"Our enemies are doing too well at laying low," Hawks huffed. "Meanwhile, the supervillains who were locked up in Tartarus are acting up. And they're almost certainly taking orders from you-know-who now. The League's being smart. They'll hide behind the chaos and confusion and use it as a cover to steal One For All when the time's right."

"Meanwhile, the country's heroes continue to unravel," Jeanist added. "If I were All For One, I'd go on the offensive."

"Right now, his priority is taking over Shigaraki's body, like Izuku said," I reminded the three. "After losing to All Might, he couldn't survive without his life support system. By strengthening his protege's body, he's creating a new host to take over for himself."

"According to Garaki's post-raid interrogation, Shigaraki was brought back online before his upgrades could be fully completed," Hawks remembered. "I don't know how All For One plans to move into his new digs, but it's clear the boy's body needs to be perfected before he does."

"And when that's accomplished, he'll focus on his next goal," Endeavor gritted his teeth. "Taking One For All by any means necessary."

"There's still something bothering me about that," Hawks brought up. "Why is Shigaraki's hatred such an important component in this?"

"One For All technically has eight strong wills in it, not counting All Might, since he's still alive," I explained. "It would take an even more powerful will to overcome the quirk's past users."

The conversation continued, as we all wondered who All For One really was and what would lead him to commit such atrocities. Despite everything, we still had no new information.

Suddenly, the car began to beep, similar to a heart monitor going flat. Signal lost?! Is Izuku okay?!

    "Not good," Hawks muttered.

As my mind raced through the possibilities of the person my boyfriend was fighting, I could only come up with one logical conclusion. Kaina is the only one of the jailbreakers who might be able to take Izuku down.
