Jeno's Point of View

I watch as Haera's lifeless body is laid in front of me.

I stepped closer but an invisible barrier was stopping me from holding her. "Why can't I touch her?" I horrifyingly asked to the masked doctors and nurses who had blank expressions on their eyes. They did not seem to care. "Hey! Why can't I touch her?!" I screamed at the doctor in charge of the mother of my baby.

The doctor simple chuckled and looked away.

I tried pushing the invisible barrier in front of me. It was like I was pushing air, but a heavy one. It was stopping me from getting close to Haera.

"Haera!" I called, almost like a plea. "Haera, wake up please!" I screamed again in hopes that she would hear me.

The doctors and nurses surrounding her suddenly pulled her hospital bed away. "Where are you taking her?" I asked, screaming for answers. They did not bother to look at me and continued dragging Haera away. "Answer me! Where are you taking her?!"

"She's mine. She has to pay for her family's sins." A masked doctor stated as he slowly walked towards me. The invisible barrier was between us.

"She did nothing wrong. She was a child!" I opposed.

The masked doctor suddenly laughed. His laugh echoed through the white walls of the room. I was starting to feel more bothered by what he would do to Haera. He's a crazy man.

He slowly took his mask off.

I was surprised to see who the person was behind the mask.

"Diego." I nervously breathed out.

He stopped laughing and grabbed me by my neck. His hand went through the invisible barrier, but I couldn't do the same. He was controlling the atmosphere and I am simply another person he can easily dispose.

I tried fighting the barrier to push his hand away but it was impossible to do so.

"This is what happens to those who fights me." He tightened the grip on my neck. I tried pulling my neck away but he was stronger than me. "They die, just like your lover." He laughed.

He continued to tighten his grip on my neck, I tried to fight and move my body away but I only fail every time. His laugh sent goosebumps to my spine and I could feel the oxygen in my body slowly disappearing.

"H-haera..." I called one last time as the nurses finally take her away.

"Cap," A voice echoed. I looked around but did not see the owner of the voice. It was only Diego and cold, white room in front of me. "Cap, wake up." I could feel a warm touch shaking my body.

What's going on?

Diego, who was in front of me, started to melt like a candle that was lit.

"Jeno, you're dreaming. You have to wake up." It was Mark's voice.

I immediately shut my eyes close and when I opened it I slowly started to feel the coldness of the room that I am truly in.

"Jeno," I knew it was Mark calling, I looked to my right and saw Mark with his eyebrows met. I looked behind him and saw brick walls painted in brown and a vintage-like designed room.

I sighed in relief.

"Bad dream?" Mark asked raising both of his eyebrows.

"Why am I here? How did I fall asleep?" I asked and tried to recall any memory of falling asleep but I was met with none.

"You fell asleep when the nurses stitched up your wounds. They said it was from exhaustion." Mark explained.

When I suddenly remembered what happened before we were brought here I quickly stood up. "Haera."

Shit.

"How long was I asleep?" I asked Mark.

"About 6 hours." He replied. I immediately rushed to the elevator. "I'm coming with you Jeno." Mark stated as he rushed towards me. I could hear his footsteps from behind.

When the elevator doors opened, I rushed inside and pressed the button to 2nd floor.

I waited as the elevator brought us to the 2nd floor. It felt like an eternity waiting for the doors to open.

I immediately walked towards a nurse sitting outside an operating room. "Where is Yang Haera?" I asked.

The nurse frowned but when she realized the name she brought us to a room with assassins guarding the door.

"Is Haera inside?" I asked one of the assassins. He nodded.

The door swung open revealing a doctor.

"Is she safe? Is she safe now?" I asked, my heartbeat beating faster than usual.

"Her body has been through so much. We had a hard time trying to stabilize her due to so much blood loss. She's stable now, but we still have to monitor her." The doctor explained.

It was in that moment when my legs felt like it wanted to give up, but I held onto the small strength in me knowing that Haera is alive.

"Our... our baby?" I nervously asked.

The doctor sighed. "We did everything that we could."

I closed my eyes, trying to shut down the surge of pain that rummaged through my chest. I held onto my chest as my other hand looked for a support.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Lee." The next thing that I heard was the echoes of his footsteps slowly disappearing.

I sat on the ground, the hard and cold wall behind me sending shivers down my spine.

"Jeno," Mark called. His voice was full of sympathy.

Tears started to fall down my eyes. I held my head down, trying to hide the pain that I was feeling.

"You don't need to hide when you're with me, Jeno. I grew up with you, I know you're hurting." Mark softly whispered by my side. "Cry as much as you want. I'm here, brother."

It was then that I couldn't control my emotions anymore. I was a crying mess— very far from the tough leader that the people around me is familiar with.

"How..." I paused trying to make my words clear. "How can I tell her this? How?!" I cried out.

I saw Mark's eyes glinting with tears too but all I could feel was pain and suffering.

I lost my child today, but it felt like I lost a part of me too.
