Her Point of View

"Where are you going?" A voice spoke.

My heartbeat fastened. I was scared, hungry, and tired. My body was wet, not with water but with my own blood.

I ran as fast as I could.

"Where do you think you're going?" Diego was suddenly in front of me. His big body covered the sun that shone on my face.

There was no more light. It was only darkness.

He held my face and cupped my cheek. "It's okay. Don't cry." Tears streamed down my face. I wanted to speak—say something. But I couldn't.

In this world, he was the law.

He had an evil smile plastered on his face. "I saw Jeno earlier." Diego announced, his smile growing.

'Where is he?'

I wanted to ask, but I couldn't.

"He was training with the new assassins when I found him."

'What did you do to him?'

"He's safe, don't worry." The tone of his voice was very different from what he was saying. "Safe in heaven." He said and pulled out his hand from behind his body and revealed a severed head.

It was Jeno's.

I could feel my heart tightening in pain.

'What did you do to him?'

"You're next." He threw Jeno's head away and brought out a knife from his pocket and stabbed my stomach with it.

I could feel the pain.

The blood slowly dripping from my stomach.

He pulled out the knife only to stab me again.

He held onto me as he continuously stabbed my stomach.

"Stop!" I cried out. "Please stop!"

"Haera?" A voice echoed in my head but I couldn't see the owner of the voice.

"Please..." I pleaded again and again. My eyes were filled with tears but I couldn't open them.

"Hey, wake up!"

My throat started hurting, the kind of pain when you have been screaming. My chest felt like it was being squeezed too.

"H-hel.." I tried to speak.

"Wake up!" Hands were shaking me. "Wake up, baby." I could slowly feel my senses coming back. I held onto that feeling and pushed myself to gain back consciousness. "Wake up, my love. Please wake up."

When I opened my eyes, it wasn't even lights that I saw. It was Jeno with his eyebrows met and eyes full of concern.

I made sure to hold onto him as I tried to catch some air.

"Breathe, baby. Please breathe." He soothed me, his hand caressing parts of my body.

When I saw his face fully and realized that I was finally awake, I couldn't help but cry. I just cried and cried.

I'm here with Jeno. I'm safe.

It has been a week after that incident.

It has also been a week of continuous bad dreams. It was as if Diego wasn't done hunting me.

Jeno made sure that he was always by my side. I could see his efforts, but I do wish that he'd get some rest too.

He trains daily and after training he heads to me, taking care of me until I'm asleep. He barely gets sleep and I could see dark circles around his eyes forming.

"Why don't you sleep for now?" I suggested and adjusted my position on my bed.

"I'm fine." Jeno smiled.

"You liar." I scoffed. "Dark circles are already forming around your eyes, you know?"

Jeno simply replied with a "mhm" and nodded.

I rolled my eyes.

This man never listens!

I rose from my bed and stood up.

"Uh, uh, uh." He tut-tutted and held me by my arm as he dragged me back onto my bed. "Bed rest for a month, right? You got one more week."

"Screw that. I'm fine already." I protested. "Besides, you look more like a patient than I do."

He raised his eyebrow and tilted his head. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me." I pulled my arm away from him and dragged him to the bed. "Now, sit."

"What am I a dog?"

"Yes. A stubborn one." I replied.

He looked at me with eyes full of opposition but I held onto his gaze, not letting our eye contact break until he listens to me.

"Fine." He finally gave in. "But just for now." He glared.

I smiled and pushed his body to sit on my hospital bed. When he was finally sat, I looked at him and noticed that he has been looking at me the whole time.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I love you." He suddenly whispered.

I was taken aback by his sudden words but I smiled anyways. "I lov—"

"Don't answer that yet." He said. My eyebrows met in confusion.

I continued staring at him. I wasn't sure where our conversation was going but it seemed that he wanted to say something.

"Say it." I demanded.

I waited for a couple more seconds when he finally spoke.

"Be my girlfriend."
