Andy and I decided that he would move back into his old place and I'd keep the apartment. We both also agreed to take some time for ourselves and let our wounds heal instead of acting like nothing ever happened. So after a long shower/cry session, I decided to go to the station. Helping people whose cats are stuck in trees seems like the perfect way to drown out my sorrows.
I swivel back and forth in the comfortable chair at the police station, lost in thought. People have always been easy for me. They go in one of two categories. You're either on my side or you aren't. Hook goes in neither, and that is very frustrating to me. By all means, he should go strictly in the 'against me' side, but he just...doesn't fit.
I called Regina as soon as I could and told her of what I found. She was grateful, but I could tell she was worried about her mom being back and all. Thankfully, when I went to the station to tell Emma what I had found, she already knew. Archie's reappearance had been all the proof she needed.
The phone ringing breaks me out of my thoughts. I reach for the phone with a start as Emma walks in. I hold up a finger since she looks like she's about to say something.
"Sheriff's station," I say blandly.
I'm met with Gold's frantic voice.
"Alice? I need you to get to the town line immediately!" Even over the phone, I can hear the primal fear in his voice.
"What happened?" I ask, sitting up straight. Emma grabs her keys from her desk in preparation.
"Just get here!" He shouts before hanging up. I throw my coat on.
"Where are we going?" Emma asks as we rush to the police car.
"The town line! That was Mr. Gold on the phone." I tell her, sliding into the passenger side.
"What happened?" She finally asks once we pull out of the station.
"He didn't say, but he sounded pretty panicked," I answer quietly.
A million worst case scenario's run through my mind.
There's only one reason that'd cause him, of all people, to sound panicked.
