Having dinner with Andy and his new wife Sandra was a bit awkward at first

Having dinner with Andy and his new wife Sandra was a bit awkward at first. I had thought that sharing any stories of me and Andy's childhood would make his wife uncomfortable but she just seemed happy to learn more about who he was before they met. After all, they met during the curse when he didn't even know who he was. Much to Andy's embarrassment, her favorite stories were the more embarrassing ones.

My phone rings in my pocket just as I'm about to head back to the station. I pull it out to see Emma's calling me. I cross my fingers, hoping that it's nothing bad before answering.

"Hello?"

"Oh, thank god you answered." She sounds like she just got done running with how out of breath she sounds. I furrow my brows, my concern only growing.

"Is everything all right?"

"No, everything that could've went wrong, went wrong." She snaps but I don't take offense, her ire clearly not aimed at me.

"You didn't find Gold's son?" I ask sympathetically. She pauses for a moment.

"I did find him..." My concern is now replaced with confusion.

"And that's bad...?"

"Gold's son is Henry's father." The words fly out of her mouth so fast I almost couldn't comprehend them. That can't be a coincidence.

"What?" I shout.

"I know, I know! The millions of questions you have, I have too. The problem is, it doesn't matter right now because I don't know what to do." She sounds terrified and I can't really blame her.

"Are you going to tell Henry?"

"Henry thinks his father is dead. I lied for a reason. I wanna protect him."

"Emma, you spent your whole life trying to get closure on why your parents didn't want you. Don't do that to him." I plead gently, knowing that if she doesn't tell him it'll only hurt him more.

"I don't want Henry to get hurt. I just want to protect him." I can hear in her voice that she's crying and I let out a heavy sigh.

"Emma, I'm sure that's true but in this case... I think you're only protecting yourself." When she doesn't respond I continue. "Listen, I'm not going to tell you what to do because I think you already know what I have to say just... no matter what you choose I'll be there for you, okay?""Okay. Thanks, Alice." She sounds at least a tiny bit less frantic than she did when she started this call. Unfortunately, that's the most I can do for her.

"Don't mention it. I'll talk to you later."

"Talk to you later."
