Emma, Snow, and Regina had bickered the entire way back to camp, their voices echoing throughout the surrounding jungle. Thankfully, no one was following them because none of them were paying enough attention to notice. Snow looks over at Regina, outraged by the whole ordeal that had taken place.
"I told you that ripping out that boy's heart was a bad idea!" She chastises the dark haired Queen who looks like a mix between frustrated and guilty. Frustrated that she had lost the opportunity to speak to her son and guilty for making Alice run off.
"How were we supposed to know she would run off like that?" Regina snaps back defensibly.
"When you decided to rip out the heart of a child!"
"We need to go after her. It's my fault she ran off in the first place, I should've never agreed to your plan." Emma speaks up solemnly, her stomach turning in knots at the thought of Alice stuck out in Neverland alone. She let her fears for Henry compromise who she is. She can imagine the look on Henry's face if he were there to see her agree to rip out a boy's heart.
"We can't! As callous as it is to say, she chose to run off. The focus needs to stay on Henry. Alice wouldn't have ran off if she didn't think she could handle herself." Regina says, as though trying to convince herself. Snow is about to respond when rustling in the brush puts the three on high alert. They reach for their weapons but relax at the sound of David's voice.
"You can stand down! It's us." He calls out, emerging from the bush alongside Hook, sextant nowhere to be seen. Without waiting for the women to greet him, he walks right up to his wife and begins kissing her, thankful to be alive after his and Hook's little detour. He can't believe he owes his life to a damn pirate.
"Where's the sextant?" Emma asks with a relieved sigh, thankful her father made it back safely.
"I'm afraid Pan got to it first." The pirate responds, looking down at his leather boots. David turns to Hook after reuniting with his wife.
"Hook. He saved my life. On our trek, we were ambushed by Lost Boys, pinned down, outnumbered. But Hook, he risked his life to stop me from getting hit by a poisoned arrow. If it wasn't for Hook, I wouldn't be alive. Your flask, please?" He holds out his hand and Hook hands him said flask with a surprised expression. He's never thought he'd receive praise from a man like David. A man like his brother. "I thought he deserved a little credit." David says and takes a swig of the rum.
"Thank you." Hook responds softly. David hands the flask to his wife who takes it with a thankful smile towards Hook.
"To Hook!" They all take a swig of the bitter liquid, wincing as the alcohol brings warmth to their skin. Hook is barely looking at them as he takes back his flask, eyes searching for the person he really wants praise from.
"Now that all that mushy stuff is out of the way, where's Alice?" He asks with a little smirk. David rolls his eyes but the three women look at each other with nervous expressions. Hook's stomach drops, assuming the worst.
