I swiftly caught up to the others to tell them I'm staying behind with Regina and to go on without us. The group tried to protest, but I reassured them that we'd catch up to them soon.

Now, Regina and I are sitting on a log together, away from Tinker Bell's hideout. We haven't been here long at all when we hear the rustling of leaves to our right. My breath hitches as I stand, putting my hand on the hilt of my sword. Regina seems a lot calmer and more collected. I realize now that Tinker Bell must have been following us.

"Let's get this over with, shall we?" Regina calls out.

A woman emerges from the overgrown foliage with a glare set on her face. She's quite beautiful, with blonde hair that's a bit darker than my own resting in a messy bun atop her head.

"'Complicated history'? That's quite a diplomatic way of describing it." She says, eyes locked on Regina.

"I'm guessing you're Tinker Bell," I say, trying to sound lighthearted, lest this go south.

"Who are you?" She snaps at me.

"Alice," I reply with a shrug.

"Am I supposed to know that name?" She asks.

"No... that's just...my name," I respond lamely.

What else was she expecting?

"You look terrible." Regina breathes out, and I shoot her a look.

"Great strategy," I mutter sarcastically.

She waves me off. Tinker Bell does not take the comment well, as is to be expected.

"Are you trying to provoke me?" She asks.

"Come and get me, Tinker Bell." Regina goads.

Tinker Bell takes a step or two forward until she's less than a foot away. I glance at her hands, checking for weapons. She has none.

"You think you're so smart. But you're gonna fail."

Without giving Regina time to respond, she lifts her hand and blows dust right into our faces. My heart rate picks up as I feel the pull of unconsciousness creeping into me. I grab for Regina's arm, but it's too late. I fall to the ground, everything going black.
