Regina decided that now would be the perfect time to teach Emma and me magic. She started with Emma first since she's had more difficulty harnessing her magic at will. I try to focus on Regina and Emma, but the others are off on the other side of camp. They're whispering to each other.
Initially, I thought they were gossiping about our little magic session. It's clear that David and Snow don't like the idea of their daughter learning magic from the Evil Queen. But Killian's over there too, looking just as distressed.
I openly stare at the group suspiciously when they look over. Whenever they notice me staring, they avert their gazes. I click my tongue against my teeth and sneer.
"Alice! Pay attention!" Regina snaps at me, and I jump.
I shoot her a glare, which she returns. I sigh, deciding to ignore whatever is going on behind me.
For now, at least.

After both Emma and I manage to make a fire, Regina decides she's had enough for one day. The three of us join the others. I make sure to snuff out the fire beforehand, knowing that we're going to have to pull up camp soon. The others are still gathered together.
"Where are you guys going?" Emma asks.
They're already putting their packs on.
"To get water."
"To get firewood."
They answer simultaneously. I look between the three and purse my lips. Are they really keeping secrets? On Neverland, of all places? Killian avoids looking directly at me.
"I'm assuming there's a good reason why you're all lying through your teeth?" I ask dryly.
"Neal's alive." Snow blurts out.
Emma's eyes widen comically. My brows furrow. How could Snow possibly know that? Did she see him?
"Neal is...alive?" Emma asks breathlessly, and I put a hand on her shoulder.
"We saw him fall through that portal after being shot. How could he have survived that?" I ask.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy if Neal's alive. But this just feels like giving Emma false hope.
