We grabbed Granny to help us track down Henry, now that he's safely back in his own body. The streets of Storybrooke are empty today, news of Pan's shadow being let free had spread around and nobody's willing to take the chance to leave their sanctuaries. The crisp, cold air contrasts with the warmth of the fall leaves pirouetting towards the ground. We all come to a halt when Granny stops to take a deep whiff of the air.
"I've got his sent! He's nearby." She exclaims before continuing down the street. We follow close on her heels. There's a sense of anticipation in the air as we approach the clock tower. The doors to the library swing open to reveal Henry. It's impossible to miss the group of nine people heading in his direction.
"It's me! It's me! It worked!" He runs over to his mothers arms and I can't help but smile softly. Even though we just seen him, having him back in his own body is far less unnerving.
"You did it Henry, nice work." I say, putting a hand on his shoulder. I turn my attention to Regina when I notice the small scroll in his hands, which must be the curse. Curious, how such a small thing could do so much damage. "The rest is up to you." Regina takes the scroll from Henry's hands. She rolls it around in her palm before grasping it tightly. My eyes widen as Regina collapses to the ground. I'm standing right behind her so I grab her before her head can smack into the concrete.
"Regina!" I shout. She's only out for a couple of seconds before her eyes open wide in shock.
"Alice." She breathes out. My eyes dart all over her face before assessing that she's perfectly fine.
"Are you okay? What just happened?" I ask as me and Emma help her to her feet.
"Yes, I'm fine. I just..." She trails off, a disturbed look printed across her features. "I saw what needed to be done."
"Mom, are you going to be okay?" Henry asks. She smiles tearfully, grabbing Henry by his upper arms.
"The important thing is that you will be." That doesn't sound like it'll bode well. I sigh heavily. Nothing can ever just go smoothly, can it?
"No he won't" We spin around and I feel my heart drop to my stomach at the sight of Pan. In his hand-
"He has the-" Killian goes to warn us but with a wave of his hand, all of us are frozen in place. All of us, except for me. I look behind me and swallow hard at the sight of everyone behind me, still as a statue. I'm in this fight alone, it would seem.
"Curse? Yeah I do." Pan says with a smug smile.
"You won't for long." I say, unsheathing my sword and holding it with both hands. I take a deep breath, reminding myself of the stakes. I'd like to say that I'm fighting for the lives of my friends. That the thought of losing them is pushing me to dig deeper, to summon every ounce of courage within me. But in reality, it's fear. Fear that I'll be sent back to that damned asylum. For once in my life, I'm fighting for myself.
