We practically sprint back to Granny's. There haven't been as many quakes since we left the apartment so I'm assuming that Regina is succeeding in holding off the inevitable. I almost slam into the door from how fast I had been running.
"We got the bean!" I call out as I swing open the door, holding the pouch up for everyone to see. Hook moves out of the way before it can smash into his face.
"You did it?" Snow asks hopefully. It looks like everyone is here so we won't have to wait much longer. Emma comes up to me, noticing the graze on my arm from Tamara's bullet.
"You okay?" She asks and I nod.
"I've had worse." I tell her and she turns back to the others, grabbing Henry by his shoulders.
"Okay, let's get going. Henry-"
"Where's my mom?" Henry asks, worried. I look down at my shoes, having a feeling I already know the answer.
"Regina can hold off the self destruct device long enough for us to escape but..." Emma's words confirm it for me. Regina will have to stay behind for us to escape. I feel a guilty pang in my chest. As bad as Regina is, she doesn't deserve to die like this. No one does.
"But what?" Henry asks, confused. I can see that the gravity of the situation has already sunk in for the others based on their grim expressions. Emma steels herself before answering.
"She won't survive." Henry looks devastated. He slowly backs up from Emma, looking around as though Regina will appear out of thin air.
"No. No!" His voice rises with desperation.
"Henry, I'm sorry. I promised her I'd get you to safety." Emma tries to comfort him but he won't let her.
"But we can't do this. She's family! We don't leave family behind." He begs and I close my eyes. He just lost his father and now he's going to lose a mother as well.
"I know, but this is what she wants. We have a way out. We have to take it." Emma responds, tears coming to her eyes as well.
"We saved her from being killed by the Wraith! How is this any different?" He asks and my back straightens at the memory.
"The Wraith!" I exclaim before I can stop myself. Everyone turns to look at me in confusion. "W-When we couldn't kill the Wraith, we sent it through a portal. We can do that with the trigger." I stutter out, unsure. Sending the Wraith through the portal was something we knew would work and if we failed, the only person who would've payed would be Regina. Now, if this were to fail, me and Henry would be the only one's to survive. Him, because he wasn't born in the enchanted forest and me because of the Vorpal sword.
"We don't know if that would work." Emma says with a skeptical look. I smile grimly.
"I know." Is all I say but my words are enough to fill Henry with renewed purpose.
