I couldn't stop toying with my ring. I was obsessed. I had no idea how I got this lucky to have a man like Zak in my life. I found myself talking more with my hand gestures than usual, a subconscious way to show off the ring, I guess. Oh well, I was proud to wear it, I was proud to be his fiancé and the one who he wants to spend the rest of his life with. The new year is an excuse to start new habits and resolutions, and my resolution was to focus more on the passion I felt I lost my fire for.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved traveling with Zak for Ghost Adventures and seeing new places, but I got so consumed with staying on top of my work schedule when Zak himself told me that I can still focus on my work while prioritizing my passion for horses and rodeo first.

I had the opportunity to "work from home" if I wanted to, and I just simply didn't because I just loved being with Zak and the guys so much that I didn't want to think about being alone at home for a week while he was out filming.

With it just being January, a lot of rodeos in my circuit didn't start taking place until March, so I had plenty of time to get my horses ready for my new goals for the year. "Tuning up" is what I call it. They all had plenty of time off, and just like me, it was time to get back to work.

I continued to toy with the ring on my finger as I walked downstairs to meet Zak in the kitchen, watching him standing over the stove as he scrambled eggs in a pan with sizzling bacon on the other. "Morning, babe," I smiled as I kneeled down to scratch Gracie between her ears.

"Morning, sweetie. Sleep good?"

"I sure did," I sighed. "What time do we have to leave for Arizona?"

"Ten. We'll be back on Friday morning sometime."

"Okay. Good thing I packed up last night. Sam called me last night saying that he'd be here around noon to check on the horses."

"Are you still planning to go to that cow thing on Friday night?"

I giggled, "You mean the cattle sorting? Yes. But just in case we don't get home early, I'll just go on Saturday. It's going on all weekend."

"I really want you to go and experience all of it. You've been talking about it since last month."

"I will, babe. Are you still coming with me or do you have plans?"

"Oh, I'll be there. I already knew I didn't have anything planned the minute you told me when this cattle sorting thing was going on. Mom wants to come, too."

"I'd love it if she did!" I smiled, sitting down at the kitchen island as I watched him continue to scramble the eggs in the pan before I looked at my phone, seeing that my foster dad texted me to let me know that his plane landed back home in Indiana and that he loved me. "Awe,"

"What is it?"

"Brad texted me. He said he landed safely in Indiana and that he loved me. That was the best Christmas gift ever, by the way."
