Today was the big day. I was getting married! Not only was I marrying the man of my dreams, I was finally getting rid of the cursed last name of my father, saying goodbye to the maiden name of Mackey forever and carrying on Zak's last name.

We were supposed to get married last year, but I was glad that we decided to postpone it because I felt like everything just didn't sit right with the planning and we were so busy with our filming schedule and my rodeo schedule since I had followed my New Year's resolution in 2018. Unfortunately, there were times that Zak and I spent time apart, with one time being a week that we didn't see each other, and it absolutely sucked

We are getting married at the Overlook in Red Rock Canyon - a place where not only I loved, but Zak loved, too. It was the place where not only he proposed to me, but a place that we had taken the horses riding numerous times as well as hiking. We were keeping this wedding simple and elegant with our closest friends and family invited. We both didn't want it to be a huge deal as we were also still in the heat of this stupid pandemic, so having our wedding outside was a big plus.

Our honeymoon, however, had to be rescheduled until further notice because of the pandemic, and that was okay because that meant we got to go right back home and continue our lives as normal until then, and since the pandemic, we were now doing additional episodes of our Screaming Room series.

I spent the night alone in our house with Gracie while Zak stayed with Aaron since his mom said that it was "bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding." She was so cute about it, and I couldn't wait for her to see me in my dress.

I sat in the bathroom as I did my own makeup, stroking Gracie's back with my foot as she lay at my feet, "Buttering up to me now isn't going to get you out of your bath, you know that, right?" I hummed to her, looking down to see her brown eyes looking up at me. "Wanna know something exciting?"

She wags her tail.

"Me and your daddy are getting married today! And you're in the VIP spot with Sophie (Billy's dog) to guard all of the dog biscuits, so you have to be all dolled up and smelling nice so you can take some good pictures with us."

Her tail continues wagging, but this time, her ears go back before she sits up to put her chin on my thigh.

"I have to be honest with you, I'm so nervous, so you have to help me not be so nervous, okay?"

I knew she wouldn't respond to me with words, but her body language instantly made me feel better. She was giving me her undivided attention and keeping me distracted from the gnawing feeling of anxiety that was consuming my inner thoughts.

I didn't know why I was so nervous. It wasn't like I was seeing Zak for the first time or anything, but this is a ceremony between us to announce our love for one another and in front of God. I couldn't believe that this was my life now. I didn't feel like I deserved a man like him, but I'm definitely not complaining. He was my favorite person, and I was going to spend the rest of my life with my best friend
