Following season 4 episode 1 of Good Girls.

Annie and Ben's Apartment;

Saige;

"I'm getting kind of worried. She's been staring at my TV for almost thirty minutes," I hear Annie fret. I know Beth is giving her younger sister a, "you're not helping!" look over my head.

"She's shocked, Annie. You were the same way when you found at you were pregnant," Beth chastises. I let out a quiet chuckle at that thought. I was seven when Ben was born.

"Do you wanna talk?" Beth offers, giving my shoulder a squeeze. I sigh, my gaze turning to the six pregnancy tests on the coffee table.

"It wasn't planned...obviously," I start, my voice low.

"How far along do you guess you are?" Beth asks.

"A month. Rio and I...we were drunk," I answer.

"Been there, done that," Annie mutters. This makes me laugh.

"Would you like to stay the night? You can have my bed and I can take the couch," Annie offers. I shake my head no, standing up from the couch and grabbing my car keys and pregnancy tests.

"My place?" Beth offers. I gulp, staring down at the black flip flops I slipped on in my haste. All I want to do right now is follow Beth back to her house and cuddle with her while she tells me that everything is going to be okay in the end. She's been my safe place, safe person since I can remember. When Beth had pulled me into her arms and let me cry into her shoulder, in the heat of the moment, I had pushed everything down. Now, it's all coming back up.

"No. Look, I just really want to be left alone right now. I'll let you guys know if I need anything or change my mind," I say. I don't look at either of my aunts' as I walk out of Annie's apartment.

Sitting in the drivers seat of my car, it's a little after eleven-thirty. Clicking the contacts app on my phone, I scroll until I find the persons name I know can really help me now.

"Hello? Is everything all right, Saige?"

"Yes. Well, I know it's late, but can I come over?" I ask.

"Of course! I'll leave the front door unlocked and the porch light on."

Twenty-five minutes later, I pull up in front of Rhea's house. Locking my car, I walk up the pathway and let myself in through the front door. I can see Rhea sitting at her dining room table and take a seat across from her.

"What's up?" She gives me a smile.

"Did you and Rio plan Marcus?" I ask. Furrowing her eyebrows in slight confusion, Rhea is quick to answer my question.

"Sorta. We had talked about starting a family a couple of months before I conceived, but we weren't actively trying. We also weren't actively trying to stop pregnancy from happening."

"How'd you tell him you were pregnant?" I ask.

"I told him that I was late on my period and sent him out to buy me a pregnancy test. He was in the bathroom with me as I peed on the sticks and we watched the little pluses appear on the tests. What is it with bombarding me with pregnancy questions all of a sudden?" Rhea answers.

Releasing a breath I hadn't realized I was holding in, I grab the pregnancy tests from my hoodie's pocket and set them down on Rhea's dining table. Her eyes widen as she slides the test closer to her so she can see PREGNANT on each test.

"We weren't trying or had decided not to use any form of protection. We haven't even talked about having kids together, Rhea," I say, trying to keep the tears at bay.
