Via's POV:
May 2nd, 2093, 10:15:
Vanguard Base, Carway:

Sitting on my bed in my room, I started thinking about my brother again, saddened about the events that happened a few days ago. After we were safe, Zero and I, thanks to the Alliance, my brother's body was taken and transported to a facility that'll take apart his armor and do some tests on his body. We're Spartans, it makes sense why they would want our bodies for science, especially given that very few bodies of Spartans are recovered.

Still though, they gave me his rocket and grenade launcher, along with his dog tags, for me to deal with. I guess this is as peaceful as it can be, given how much war we've been through, and we are soldiers, we are expected to be prepared to die in this line of work. I just hoped that Douglas's end would've been under better circumstances, and with a gun in his hand as well. I guess him finally accepting Zero as a friend was the best thing that could happen to him, since he passed away no longer having any problems with him.

Speaking of Zero, after I told him how he lost control do to my brother's death, he became really quiet before he ran away. According to the Alliance, Zero left Earth completely, with a satellite video showing a flash of blue light leaving Earth before fading in the empty expanse of space. It's been hitting Chloe really hard, since he hasn't returned for the past two days, which is something we never thought could happen.

I've done my best, but dealing with my brother's death, I didn't think I'd be a good person to talk to, so I just sat by her, whenever possible. Still, even though she is saddened by Zero's disappearance, she knew that Zero would return, since what happened makes him feel responsible for everything. He shouldn't feel responsible for what happened to Douglas, he did everything he could to save us, especially since getting caught was because of our mistake.

Rex even showed up here just yesterday to discuss with Helena and Orion about plans of tracking Zero and finding him. Because of this, our government has saw fit to place a budget in a new Space Division in the Alliance, which would give us an advantage in this war, if nothing else. Still though, even if we had at the ready spaceships, we still wouldn't know where Zero went, since he didn't exactly leave a trail.

Looking up, I looked at a framed photo of mine and Douglas's most recent picture, with us on one of the Warthogs smiling at the camera. Douglas was flexing his right arm while holding the camera with his left arm, a goofy smile on his face. I've already mourned him, went through a time of self-hatred for allowing him to die, and a time of remembering all I did to make sure he got where he was, only for a bullet to end it all.

If there is one thing I would like to do, it's to kill that Cyborg that took Douglas from us, with my own two hands preferably, a bullet would be too easy for that avian shit. However, knowing how well that'll go, I wouldn't stand a chance, since he has powers of some kind that I never saw. And even then, I don't know where he is, so hunting him is out of the question, even though I want to. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door, and expecting it to be Chloe or someone from Alpha Team, I said loudly,

Via: "It's unlocked."

After I said that, I turned to the door as it opened, and my eyes widened in surprise as I saw Zero standing in the doorway. Getting up, I immediately ask,

Via: "Zero?"

Zero (looks down and sighs): "Hey Via...can we talk?"

I was about to go to Chloe after practically running away for two days straight. Yet, knowing him, he came to me because it's important enough that announcing his arrival back to the Alliance can wait. Sighing, I stepped aside and motioned for him to enter my room, to which he stepped inside. Afterwards, I closed the door and turned to him, to which he asked with his back turned to me,
