Rena's POV:

Vanguard Base, Carway:
Sitting in the living room with the rest of the team, Zero was setting up the TV with a DVD player to play a movie. He was doing this because he wanted us to watch an old movie he said that we would at least find interesting, if not interesting. I was confused on how he even found a movie from 'his' ERA, let alone a DVD player. Still, at least this is different from the usual stuff we do in our off time between missions, like training, maintaining weapons, etc.
With me in the living room was Zero, who was setting everything up, and on the couch with me was Chloe, Via, and Ruby. Mariana was in the kitchen, making us popcorn and getting all the snacks set up. If there's one thing I like about the movies, it's the snacks and drinks, I wonder what the options for the latter are? As much as I like it, I probably shouldn't have any Dragon's Breath, I'll end up passed out on the ground by the time they'll start the movie.
As we waited, I heard Chloe ask,
Chloe: "Zero, what's this movie you're having us watch? You haven't told us het."
Zero (inserts a plug while hanging upside down behind the TV): "Ah, but my dear Fiance, why ruin the surprise of this Gem? I think it's better to just wait for it to start, you'll be pleasantly surprised, I promise."
Via (playfully scoffs): "Gem? It's a movie about pretty rocks?"
Ruby (turns to Via): "Really? You think any pretty rocks with my name will be in it?"
Via: "Pretty sure rubies are apart of these pretty rocks humans seem to hold a great significance for."
Zero (chuckles lightly while powering up the DVD player): "No, it isn't a movie about gems, I call it a Gem to reference how great it is, it's a thing for humans back in my day."
Via: "Zero, you're in your mid-twenties, you don't get to act like you're as old as time yet."
Zero (chuckles): "When you travel through an interdimensional wormhole by yourself, then you can tell me that."
After he said that, I started chuckling slightly, since Via, Chloe and I were older than Zero within a five-year time span. Then, sniffing into the air, I smelt the scent of popcorn and other assorted snacks, making me turn to the kitchen and see Mariana walking towards us. As she did, I asked her,
Rena: "What's on the menu for our movie night?"
Mariana (raises a hand holding three bowls): "Popcorn, candy, jerky, and all sorts of other snacks for us."
After she said that, she placed a small table in front of us she dragged with her tail before placing the bowls down. Looking at the snacks, my tail started swishing back and forth as I looked at it all, holding onto my energy drink with my left hand. Then, as Mariana walked around and sat next to me, Zero jumped out from behind the TV and landed while rolling his shoulders, saying,
Zero: "Alright, let's get this movie night going."
After he said that, he started walking around the table until I saw Chloe's tail reach his right wrist from over the table before lifting him up. She lifted him over the table before she placed him on her lap, wrapping her arms around him afterwards while placing her head on top of his, purring softly. We all then began chuckling quietly, me personally enjoying the sight of our two supernatural squad mates being cuddly with each other.
As the TV turned on, I heard the sound of fur being petted, so I turned and saw Zero gently petting Chloe's left forearm. Honestly, that's kind of cute, even with all that's happened...I'm glad Chloe has the one she needed. Turning back to the TV, the entire screen darkened before a space background appeared, followed by a old human pirate ship floating in space. Huh, wonder what humans of the past did back then if they had this much creative thinking for their entertainment.
