(Chapter 49)/The Lost and The Alliance vs The Corrupters Warlord

Zero's POV:
May 15th, 2093, 18:45:
Outside the coast of Southwestern Madagascar:

In the pelican flying to Madagascar, I was sitting with Chloe as she held my hand the whole ride. I could tell she was nervous with all the Lost individuals in the hold, including the Lost Reaper King. I mean, I understand why she was nervous, and honestly, I'm grateful, but I myself have gotten over it. Did something happen that she hasn't told me about, and prefers to keep it quiet?

Either way, I know for a fact that the Lost Reaper King isn't being immediately burnt beyond a crisp because of my presence. Looking around, I could see Via and Rena napping a bit while Ruby and Mariana were checking on their gear. At the same time, I saw the Darkness pull out his cloak, allowing me to see a collection of various cheeses, electrical appliances, scrolled up paper, and weapons of various designs, from legitimate to toys.

The Oracle and Master Tremble, meanwhile, were discussing something in the Reaper language, talking about plans of 'The Absorption' and 'It's all coming together.' I wouldn't be surprised if I had to do some random bullshit that wasn't just kicking the Reaper Warlords ass and sending him back to the Shadow Realm. However, as we continued flying, my com-link beeped before I heard Orion's voice,

Orion: "Zero, there is something I would like to discuss and show you, one moment while I cancel out your voice speakers for your helmet."

After it said that, a tab opened up in my visor and showed a satellite image of Madagascar. However, as it zoomed closer, it showed, clear military grade naval vessels along the coast of Western Madagascar. These boats don't seem to be possessed like that one I had to deal with a long time ago, and I saw humans running around on the decks. This only met one thing, Cerberus was there and they were waiting for us.

Honestly, with the amount of bullshit I've already been through, I can't say I'm surprised, if anything, this proves a few things. Cerberus is getting desperate for control, they actually feel threatened for once if they haven't already, and the Corrupter has them under its control. Actually, thinking about the Corrupter, I haven't heard about it for a long time, must have decided to take his ass back to the Shadow Realm or whatever.

Honestly it not being around gives me a huge break, I don't have to worry about my fiancé being possessed by some supernatural entity that's obsessed with corrupting people...tough crowd. Anyways, coming back to the present, I raised my other hand and began scratching the back of my neck while Orion said,

Orion: "You may have thought of it already, but I wish to give my concerns that Cerberus has allied themselves with the Corrupters Reaper army, despite clear observations that winning in a fight against both the Alliance and The Lost simultaneously is less than a rational thought."

Zero (chuckles lightly): "Sorry to disappoint with experience, but Cerberus lost their ability to be identified as humans when they began experimenting on children, looking for weaknesses in Anthro's via biology, they lost a shitload of rational thought."

Orion: "Dissection of a individual that had no military history is ineffective in the long run, Anthro Army standard procedure was to completely change the system of the soldiers when they held power."

Zero (sighs): "The Dissection phase wasn't for the soldiers."

After I said that, Orion stayed silent for a solid three seconds before saying,

Orion: "I see, I apologize if I happened to 'open old wounds,' as you humans say."

Zero: "Don't worry about it, not like you had the scalpel."

After I said that, the sound of a muffled explosion brought my attention forward, knowing that we were close to Madagascar. I gave Chloe's hand a squeeze before getting up at the pelican pilot said,
