Chapter 90: Victims

Another hour or two had passed by when the Uchiha walked in. Her heart dropped when she saw his face. She was determined not to show any reaction or downright ignore the Uchiha but how could she do that when he was obviously throwing his life away for obsessive power? A bandaged was plastered around his head covering his eyes obviously giving a brief idea of what had happened.

"Oh my god, what have you done, Sasuke? What have you done?" Misa gasped standing in front of the man with her head craned up and facing the melancholy emotion.

Sasuke shrugged her off and avoiding her piercing gaze which he could still clearly vision through the miniscule gaps in the gauze, "Nothing that concerns you."

"Why are you seriously doing this? What are you planning to get out of me? You brought me back and now you gave up your eyes? Sasuke, you are ruining your own self!" The girl expressed her frustration nearly tearing some hair strands from her hair.

"I did nothing but make myself stronger!" The Uchiha raised his voice sounding extremely cold and closed off.

"You gave up your eyes for power? You are already strong! Why in the world do you want to get stronger?" Misa argued back gritting her teeth.

The older boy spat out, "If you didn't realize, I am not strong enough. I want to rule the world. I want to reinstate my lost clan and for that I need Itachi's power. Right now Itachi's power is flowing into me. I can feel myself getting stronger."

The poor girl was in complete shock. Sasuke had use Itachi's eyes? At this point, the Uzumaki felt like Sasuke was drifting ever so apart from her and there was nothing she could do to bring him back considering how far his fall was in the pit. There was not much difference in the Uchiha eyes but in Misa's point of view, Sasuke's eyes had a certain gloomy glow to them. They could soften up and harden up just in a single instance. Now it was all gone. It was truly heartbreaking for both Misa and Sasuke. Misa was getting disappointed and Sasuke just wanted control.

"You are right. It's not something that concerns me. You can do whatever you want. After all you and I are done," The redhead walked up, shaking her head and giving Sasuke a forced smile which the Uchiha despised.

He immediately stood on his ground and took long strides towards her to catch up with the girl who reflexively took some steps backward and thus pushing her back to the wall again with his hands trembling at her shoulders, "You are not to leave me! You are the mother of my child! You have always belonged to me! You belong to me! You will always belong to me!"

"I do not belong to you! I might be the mother of our son but I am nothing else to you. You made it clear, Sasuke. You made it clear when you crossed your boundaries," Misa voiced her thoughts, trying her best to hold in her tears that were right on about to cascade down her eyes like a stream, "In fact, I belong to Konoha. I am a shinobi of Konoha and will always belong to Konoha not you!"

The last part about her belonging to Konoha was only partially true. While it was true that she was born in Konoha and will probably die in Konoha, she had always thought of her allegiance to her friends and community of helpful people. She was not bound to the village rather the people who did show her love and kindness. Anyhow she emphasized on the word 'Konoha' just to trigger him and get a rise out of him hoping to falsely prove that she did care about Konoha more than he thought.

"Why do you keep supporting Konoha? That Konoha shunned you and your brother for life! That same Konoha ruined my clan!" Sasuke growled going feral, punching the wall next to her and creating a deep dent earning a nervous gulp out of the girl.

"Because I have morals. I have compassion. I have love. I am not an emotionless shell like you are!" She responded with the same energy, her hands moving explaining how she was exactly feeling, "That same Konoha that shunned me gave me friends! That same Konoha that shunned me made sure I was healthy, that I had food and water by the end of the day! That same Konoha that shunned me gave me, a similar love that child would receive from a mother! That same damned Konoha helped me be a ninja! That cruel, vile Konoha gave me you. Don't look at me like that Sasuke... it is true after all. Konoha gave me you."
