Alexander’s POV
The night before our wedding, I found myself wide awake, staring at the ceiling of my hotel room. Hindi ko maintindihan kung bakit hindi ako makatulog. Siguro dahil sa excitement o baka dahil sa kaba. Minsan, the weight of everything hits you all at once, and in that moment, I felt it. Bukas, I’d be marrying the love of my life, and nothing could have prepared me for the mix of emotions running through me.
Nasa isip ko si Isa. I could almost picture her, siguro gising din siya at iniisip ang mga mangyayari bukas. Naalala ko tuloy ang mga moments namin together—how we met, how our relationship grew, and how we got to this point. Each memory was a reminder of how much she meant to me, how much I loved her.
Sa sobrang dami ng iniisip ko, I decided to get up and take a walk. Lumabas ako ng kwarto, hoping that a little fresh air would calm my nerves. The hotel was quiet, almost eerie, but it was exactly what I needed. Walang tao sa hallway, and the only sound I could hear was the faint hum of the air conditioning.
As I reached the lobby, nakita ko ang isang familiar figure sitting on one of the couches. It was my best man, Ethan, also wide awake.
“Hindi ka rin makatulog?” tanong ko, approaching him.
He looked up at me, a grin forming on his face. “You too, huh? Akala ko ako lang.”
Umupo ako sa tabi niya, and for a while, we just sat there in comfortable silence. I appreciated Ethan’s presence; he had been there for me through thick and thin, and knowing that he was with me on this journey was reassuring.
“Bukas na ‘to, Alex,” he said after a while, his tone serious. “You ready?”
I nodded, kahit na deep inside, I wasn’t entirely sure. “Yeah, I’m ready. Just... a lot on my mind, I guess.”
“Natural lang ‘yan,” Ethan replied, giving me a reassuring pat on the back. “Pero alam mo, Isa’s lucky to have you. And you’re lucky to have her too. You guys are perfect for each other.”
A small smile tugged at my lips. “Thanks, man. That means a lot.”
“Alam mo, if you’re nervous, just remember why you’re doing this. It’s because you love her, and she loves you. Everything else, magiging okay lang.”
His words brought a sense of calm to my restless mind. Tama siya. This was all about love, and as long as Isa and I had that, we could face anything together.
*****
Kinabukasan, I woke up feeling a little more rested, but the nerves were still there. My morning was a blur of preparations—getting dressed, making sure everything was in order, and trying to keep myself from freaking out. The moment was finally here, and there was no turning back.
When I arrived at the church, everything felt surreal. The place was beautifully decorated, exactly how Isa wanted it. The pews were filled with our family and friends, all waiting for the ceremony to begin. I stood at the altar, my heart racing as I waited for Isa to make her entrance.
And then, the doors opened, and there she was.
Nakita ko siya, and everything else faded into the background. Isa was stunning, walking down the aisle in her wedding dress, her smile bright and full of love. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. In that moment, everything felt right, as if all the doubts and worries I had the night before were gone.
Nang magkatabi na kami sa altar, I took her hand in mine, feeling the warmth of her touch. I could see the same emotions reflected in her eyes—love, excitement, and a hint of nervousness. We exchanged a quick smile, a silent promise that we were in this together.
