"So this is goodbye for now, huh?"

Elsa questioned Brystal as they stood on the side of the leaving docking bay. The two days had gone by so fast. It somehow had been enough to make up for those past eight or so years.

Both had jobs to get to.

Elsa was decorated and dressed in ceremonial gray ambassador robes. A golden badge pressed against the innermost gray layer. She was about to become the first Recreation ambassador for the newly founded colony on Vita, a big accomplishment. Just in a little more than a few hours.

Brystal ready to leave and rejoin the enterprise as third in command. Only needing Callius final confirmation notes to take Zach with her on her Starfleet Datapad. The new Sherlock Holmes that the Enterprise was going to teach Starfleets ideals.

Probably a reason Callius had agreed was because of an old wish that children of starfleet members should experience the job, see the wonders and dangers the galaxy held. Zach was different. He was pretty much like a child Vulcan.

"Of course it is. This time though we're in contact," Brystal answered.

Guilt gnawed at Elsa's heart as she added, "I'm sorry. Last time was hard. I couldn't have any communications with anyone-"

"Because you were afraid of endangering everyone. I understand that. Especially after the whole...incident," Brystal assured her, making one final adjustment to her Starfleet insignia. Her eyes meeting Elsa's in understatement.

The conversation had gone serious instead of a bittersweet farewell for now. Elsa hated having to be so serious around a good friend. This moment should have been a little happier.

"Damn, I'm too sober for this," Elsa sighed before she tried a different direction, "I'm going to be wearing robes and fancy dresses for days, months, and years. I'll look like a Audrey Hepburn movie or a bedazzled drag queen."

"Nah, you'll still be the cocky, Alice Cooper music lover that I know," Brystal chuckled a bit before smiling.

"I'm more surprised that you're not an ambassador," Elsa commented, "I can get upset easily more than you do, more emotional in all ways. You on the other hand, are so much more calmer and relaxed than I could ever be."

"I'm too young to be one. I also don't think I'm ready for a calmer job. To quote a U.S president, 'I was born for a storm, and a calm does not suit me,' and I-"

"Pft, yeah, relatable to me too," Elsa commented with an annoyed noise. Brystal's smile edged a little higher.

"I know:"

Maybe she'd used the wrong quote overall, but it didn't matter. Elsa was right, it probably suited them both. Reckless and ready for a fight, the storm was always living around them.

Elsa pulled Brystal into and embraced, holding her tight. Brystal returned the hug, her face almost buried in Elsa's thick strands of bright red locks of hair. One last hug before they'd have to wait to see each other again.
