                                                                             TOM'S VIEW

I feel bad for Alyssa. The closer we get to our trip for the wedding, she is getting more tense.

We went to visit the kids and that put her in a good mood, but after we left, she's back to being quiet.

We got home. I said, "Alyssa is there anything I could do for you. I hate to see you all upset."

She said, "I'm fine. Thank you though. I just worry about seeing my parents.  They make me nervous. My sisters it will be fine, but my mom will start in on me, and I just don't want them to be rude to you."

I said, "Alyssa don't worry about me. It doesn't matter if they are rude to me."

I wanted to do something to get her mind off of it, so I thought maybe she needs to have a girls day with Judy and my mom, so I called them both up, and they said they'd be over.

I want to be the one that makes her feel better, but if they can help her, then that's all that matters.

After we got back from the hospital visits, she said she wanted to take a nap.  She was in her room.

I knocked on her door, and went in to tell her that mom and Judy were wanting to come over and have a girls day.

She said, "Are you going out with the guys?"

I said, "no, I'm going to change the oil on mom's car."

She gave me a big smile, and said, 'Oh good."  Then she said, "um I mean I'm sorry, you can go out with the guys if you want. I just feel safer with you here. But I know I'm safe if you go."

I was right, that was what she needed. I came in to get a rag, and Judy must have been telling Alyssa another story about us guys, specifically me, because they were laughing, but when they saw me, they laughed even more.

I said, "Maybe I should have stayed outside, I guess you are talking about me huh."  I winked at her.  She laughed.

She said, "Judy was telling me a story about you and Booker. On one of your cases."

I rolled my eyes, but laughed.

These girls can make fun of me all she wants, if it makes Alyssa laugh and happy.

Judy said, "Hanson come on, you have to admit, Booker and you are like two things that don't go together. You spend half the case arguing with each other, and he insulting you, and you shoving him up against the wall."

The girls laughed.  I said, "True, but he deserves it every time I do that."

The guys came over and brought beer and pizza. Then everyone went home.

Alyssa got up to go to her room to go to bed. She said, "Tommy thank you."

I said, 'For what."

I was going to head to my room, so I went to stand beside her.

She stopped and turned and faced me.

She said, "For calling Judy and your mom, asking them if they could come over."

I said, "Uh."

She laughed.  She said, "I know that it was your idea Tom. They told me."

I said, "I'm glad that it made you happy, and that you could laugh and smile instead of worry."

She said, "I'm sorry, earlier I didn't mean to laugh at you, I wasn't laughing at you, just it's funny."

I said, "It's okay, honestly it's so good to see you laugh, I don't care if you want to make fun of me, it's okay."
