CHAPTER 77: HEAVEN

                                                                                  ALYSSA'S VIEW:

After 4 hours they came to tell us that Tom was out of surgery, and that it went well. The doctor would be in to talk to us.

The doctor came in and said that Tom should be okay.

He said they were getting him ready to go to the SICU and that they would let us know when it was okay to go in and see him.

Everyone hugged each other and Tom's mom.

Jordan said, "Alyssa since Tom is going to be fine, how about we get you something to eat?"

I said, "I don't want to leave."

Dennis said, "you don't have to, we can go get you, and Mrs. Hanson, and Judy something to eat".

Doug said, "How about pizza. Harry and I can go get it."

Judy said, 'Sounds good."

Adam said, "I'll buy. Let's go guys."

. I said, "oh no. I forgot all about Jake he's home alone."

Jordan said, "Alyssa don't worry. I'll go check on him okay. Do you have keys."

I said, "No."

Judy said, 'I have a key to Tom's place. I'll get it for you."

Jordan said, "I'll check on Jake and then do you want me to bring you anything."

I said, "Maybe just my sweats and a hoodie. And my phone."

Jordan bent down and kissed my head. He said, "I'll be back."

Margaret took my hand. She said, "Alyssa, honey are you sure you're okay? You were hurt, your arm, and I know you were terrified."

I said, "I'm okay. Just scared for Tommy."

She said, "When Adam called, he filled me in on what happened. This evil man poisoned Jake?"

I said, 'yes, and he was taunting me about it, on that message, and then he said that he was going to kill Tom and Dennis. He said he would text me a picture, and it was Tom going into the vet's. He said, if I didn't come to him alone, he would kill Tommy. I hated to leave Jake, and Tom, but I wanted to protect him. And then he told me to leave my phone, but delete the message so they wouldn't know where I was."

Judy said, "Thank God you didn't."

I said, "But if I would have, then Tommy would be fine."

Margaret said, "No he wouldn't. If he wouldn't have been able to get to you and stop that monster from taking you, he wouldn't be okay."

Judy said, "Alyssa she's right. Tom was so upset, he called me, when I was in the bathroom, to tell me that he was headed home, that they found out Jake was poisoned, and that he was sure that the stalker was the one who did it."

I said, "he knew?"

Judy said, "yeah because the vet said it was a poison that the military used to have. So, he was worried about you and wanted to get home. He told me to not tell you, and act normal, and he was going to tell you. But then I come out and you were gone. Tom was already blaming himself, thinking that he should have known this guy was still here. Dennis and Tom drove up, not long after, and Tom I've never seen him like that, panicking, so upset. I was upset, and blaming myself, but Tom said not to. He was blaming himself. He was frantic to get to you in time. But Dennis said he should drive, because Tom was way too upset to be driving."

Judy said, "Trust me Alyssa, there is no way Tom would have been able to handle it, to cope, if that monster kidnapped you and took you far away."

Margaret said, "He wouldn't have been able to handle it. She's right. I know my son, and he would have rather been shot and killed saving you, than be fine, and you be gone with that mad man."
