CHAPTER 23: TLC

Alyssa's view:

I am not stupid. I know why Tom sent me to the bedroom to call Judy. It wasn't just for me to talk to her, although Judy was glad, I called, and so was I.

But the guys wanted to have a conversation about my stalker, without me hearing it. I'm sure they think they need to protect me.

But it's about me, it's my life at risk, the guy wants me, so I am a little irritated that they kept me out of the conversation.

Although, I will admit. Hearing what Adam told them, this guy is ex-military, and that he got away, they don't have a face, no name.  All that new information has been terrified.

I don't know why, but I was expecting the guy to look different.  I was expecting him to be a small man, weak looking, maybe a nerd type.

But not a tall, strong, military guy.

I had left the door open so that I could listen to their conversation. Luckily they didn't realize that.

I came out of the bedroom.  Adam greeted me, and told me again to not worry, they would put another plan in place.  He wished us a good night, and left.

Donnie said he had to get home, but if I needed anything to call him. He gave me a hug.

Jordan said he would walk out with Donnie.

Jordan said, "Alyssa call me if you need me. I'll check in with you later okay."

I said, "yes Jordan. Thank you."

Jordan gave me a hug.  He kissed the top of my head.

Tom frowned. Like a big frown. He was staring, and I caught the look on his face.

Tom cleared his throat a few times.  Jordan and Donnie gave each other a weird look, not sure what that is about. Because there is no way Tom is jealous or that Tom likes me like that.

Jordan and Donnie left.

Tom said, "Alyssa come sit down with me."  We went to the couch.

Jake was eating a bone that Tom had given him.

Tom said, "How are you feeling?"

I said, "do you want the truth or just the usual answer that I give, I'm okay."

Tom said, "I want the truth."

I said, "I'm terrified, even more now that I've seen this guy. I don't know why, but I guess I was expecting him to be like weak looking, and I'm not being mean, but like a nerd type."

Tom said, "yeah that's what I was expecting too."

I said, "But now that I've seen him, and know he's ex-military, and well trained in military skills I'm terrified of him."

Tom gave me a look.

Tom said, "how did you know he was ex-military?"

I said, "I'm not stupid Tom. "

Tom said, "I know that."

I said, "I knew exactly why you sent me into the bedroom to call Judy, it wasn't so that I could check on her. It was so you men could all take about this guy."

Tom said, "Because we were trying to not scare you Alyssa."

I said, "It's my life. The guy is after me. I have a right to know what we are dealing with. I know that you guys were trying to protect me, but."

Tom said, 'I'm sorry. You're right it is your life, and you have every right to know, but I just thought why scare you even more. I know you have to be freaked out about watching what went down."
