CHAPTER 33: MOONLIGHT

Tom's view:

After dinner, Alyssa and I did dishes. Then she went to bed. She said she was tired.

I grabbed a beer and am sitting on the couch.  I keep replaying that video.

After Jordan and Donnie posted the video tagging Alyssa's IG, then Alyssa posted it, and the notifications were coming in so fast.

Comments like, this is the mystery man, are we getting closer to seeing his face, you don't even need to see his face to know he's falling hard for her, look at the intense way he's filming her, they make a beautiful couple, I bet Rob is kicking himself, probably wishes he was dead rather than having to see Alyssa with a real man. I had to laugh at that one.

I'm watching the video. All I can think is how I wish this was real. That I really was holding her hands, that she was really dancing just for me, posing for me, that I was really twirling her around me like that.  There were so many comments saying how beautiful the way he's holding her hand, how he's twirling her around him.

My phone rang. It was Doug. 

I said, "Penhall."

Doug said, "Hanson so you and Alyssa."

I said, "What about us, not that there is an us."

Doug said, "Are you holding out on me?"

I said, "What?"

He said, "Are you sure that you're just friends. I know how you feel, but did you tell her and ask her to be your girl?"

I said, "I wish. But no Doug. Why?"

Doug said, "you two sure look like a couple, you are twirling her around, the way you are holding her hand."

I laughed. I said, "You saw the video for their new song."

Doug said, "yeah Judy called me up all excited screaming in my ear."

I laughed. So did Doug.  Doug said, "She's shipping you two hard, just know when this is over, I think Judy is expecting a wedding in the next couple of years."

I laughed. I said, "The funny thing is, none of that happened."

Doug said, "What?"

I said, "The video, all I did was film her. I never touched her; we weren't holding hands. I didn't kiss her hand, or twirl her around, she didn't dance around me."

Doug said, "Hanson I saw it?"

I said, "I know you did, and I wish it did happen, but it didn't. I filmed her dancing, but Jordan and one of his friends worked on it and computerized it, making us do things we didn't do."

Doug said, "I thought for sure it was real."

Alyssa's view:

I am lying in bed. Jake's asleep by me. I can't sleep. I'm tired, but I keep looking at the video. After Jordan posted it and tagged me, I posted it, and the comments keep coming in.

It makes me sad because most of my fans are excited and happy for me. Thinking this is real.

Judy called.

She was almost screaming in my ear.  I laughed. I said, "you saw the video?"

She said, "I knew it. I knew he was into you. It's so adorable, and don't even try and say that was just for the post. The way he was kissing your hand twirling you around him."

I said, "I hate to ruin it for you Judy, but that didn't happen. I danced to the song, and Tom filmed me, and Jordan's friend filmed Tom filming me, but I was never close to Tom, and he never touched me."
