A/N this one is short n sweet for you guys cause i have the most random idea for next chapter
Taylor's POV
"This is a terrible idea."
Travis grins, entirely unfazed. "Nah, it's genius."
I narrow my eyes at him. "Matching tattoos? You do realize this is permanent, right?"
He scoffs. "Oh, so you don't plan on keeping me around forever? That hurts, babe."
I roll my eyes, trying not to smile. The truth is, I was on board with this the second he suggested it, but I like to pretend I'm the reasonable one in this relationship. The one who doesn't just wake up and decide, Hey, let's get matching ink today.
Yet, here we are.
The tattoo shop is small and quiet, tucked away from the busy city streets. The walls are covered in flash sheets and framed artwork, and a faint buzzing fills the space. It smells like antiseptic and ink, and for some reason, that makes this feel even more real.
A woman with dyed blue hair and an eyebrow piercing leans on the counter, smirking at us. "You guys here for couple's tattoos?"
I sigh. "That obvious?"
Travis wraps an arm around my shoulders and kisses the top of my head. "She pretends to be against it, but deep down, she's obsessed with me."
The tattoo artist laughs. "That tracks. So, what are we doing?"
Travis nudges me. "Tell her, babe."
I bite back a smile. "We want '13 + 87 = 100.'"
She tilts her head, thinking. "Okay, I'm assuming those numbers mean something special?"
Travis nods. "Thirteen is her lucky number, eighty-seven is my jersey number, and together, we're a hundred percent."
The artist snorts. "Damn, that's actually cute."
"I am actually cute," Travis says, winking.
I shove him lightly. "Let's just get to the designing, Romeo."
Maria starts sketching as we sit there, still holding hands. A few minutes later, she turns the paper toward us. Two tiny, simple line drawings— clean and minimalistic, exactly what we wanted.
I love it immediately.
"This is perfect," I say, looking up at Travis. "You like it?"
He nods. "Hell yeah. Let's do it."
Maria sets up her station while I start overthinking everything. Not the tattoo itself—I'm all in at this point—but the placement.
"Where are we putting them?" I ask, looking at Travis.
He grins. "I was thinking my wrist."
I nod. "Yeah, I like that."
Then he smirks. "And you? I vote for somewhere sexy."
I swat his arm. "Travis!"
Maria chuckles as she pulls on her gloves. "Oh, I like you two."
After some deliberation (and Travis throwing out ridiculous suggestions like right above your heart so you always think of me), I settle on my inner forearm—small, subtle, something I can see every day without it being too in-your-face.
Travis goes first, because of course he does. He sits down like a total pro, completely relaxed, while Maria works. I watch, fascinated, as the tiny football comes to life on his wrist.
He barely even flinches. "That's it?"
Maria rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, tough guy. You're so brave."
I giggle, and he winks at me. "Your turn, babe."
I take his place in the chair, and Travis immediately crouches down beside me, resting his chin on my shoulder.
"You okay?" he murmurs, lips brushing my ear.
I shiver, but not from nerves. "Yeah."
He presses a kiss to my temple. "Good. 'Cause now we're officially stuck together."
Maria laughs. "Not how tattoos work, but sure."
The sting is minimal, and before I know it, I have a tiny guitar permanently etched onto my skin. When Maria finishes, Travis grabs my wrist, running his thumb over the fresh ink.
"Damn," he murmurs, eyes dark. "That's sexy."
I roll my eyes, but I'm blushing. "It's just numbers, Travis."
He smirks. "Yeah, but it's our numbers
We pay, leave a big tip, and step outside into the evening air. Travis pulls me close, grinning down at me.
"You do realise what this means, right?"
I raise a brow. "What?"
He lifts his wrist, tapping the tattoo. "This? This is proof I'm not going anywhere."
Something warm spreads through my chest.
"Good," I whisper, standing on my toes to kiss him.
Because neither am I.
