❝¡No, espera, Sebastián, por favor! (No wait, Sebastian, please!)❞
______________________________
After packing my belongings, I hurried to the Floo Flame outside the Slytherin common room.
I teleported to the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower and made my way into the Undercroft. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I took in the grim reality of the crime scene. The place was still in chaos—blood stained the floor, broken boxes lay scattered, shattered glass glistened among splintered gravel. I kept my hands to myself, careful not to disturb any evidence.
With my bag securely strapped to my back, carrying Angella's belongings, I Apparated to the farmhouse on their property—the only safe spot to travel to in case Muggles were nearby, working or snooping around. I landed in a massive, soft hay bale, tumbling and struggling to climb out. Already sweating, I cursed my choice of attire. A jacket and scarf in this country's autumn-midwinter heat? Bad idea.
As I approached the Delgados' backyard, a small but telling detail caught my attention—Angella's balcony doors were wide open, and music blasted from inside. Her soft voice carried through the air, singing along to her favorite Neoni song. Of course, she was home. I couldn't think of a better place for her to hide—safe in her own house, surrounded by family, protected by magic strong enough to keep intruders at bay. Those who knew of the farmhouse could see through the enchantments, but outsiders wouldn't.
I knocked several times on the front door and waited. A figure appeared in the window, his face breaking into a wide smile as he pulled back the curtain. The door swung open, and I was immediately pulled into a brotherly embrace.
"Sebastián, hermano mío! (Sebastian, my brother)"
I patted his back warmly. "Lorenzo, mi amigo, ¡qué bueno verte! (Lorenzo, my friend, good to see you!)"
He stepped aside, letting me in.
I dropped my bag onto a chair in the hallway before following Lorenzo into the living room. He settled into a chair, and I took a lounger across from him.
"¿Quieres algo de beber? (You want something to drink?)" he asked.
I shook my head. "Tal vez más tarde, gracias. (maybe later, thanks)"
His eyes lit up with amusement. "Tu español está mejorando. (your Spanish is turning better)"
I chuckled. "Sí, lo estoy intentando. (yeah, I'm trying)"
A loud crash from upstairs made me glance at the ceiling. Something had fallen over. I took a steady breath before asking, "How is she, Lor?"
Lorenzo's smile faded instantly. "No es bueno, hombre. (not good man)"
His fingers tapped restlessly against the arm of his chair. "She's holding on, but barely. Clinging to whatever she can just to make it through another day. Angelina is standing on the edge—between giving up and seeing how much more she can endure. And I'm terrified of losing her if she falls any further." He shifted in his seat, visibly uncomfortable.
I studied him for a moment before offering quiet reassurance. "She may be falling apart, but she's been here before. She'll take her time, pick up the pieces, rest, and then move forward—like she always does."
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "This time is different, man. I can't explain it. I think I saw it coming, but I didn't want to believe her new world could be this cruel." His voice darkened. "Yes, she's strong, independent. But I should've protected my sister better from these past few years."
