❝ You shattered my world the moment you didn't come with me when I asked❞

I took Sebastian's hand, my voice steady but urgent. "It's not safe for you to be here."

He frowned, gripping my hand tighter. "Hold on. What are you trying to say, Delgado?"

"Let her continue," Ominis interjected, his voice devoid of emotion.

I inhaled sharply. "I need you to stay away from me and Marvolo from now on. It's for your own safety. You don't have a choice."

Confusion flickered across Sebastian's face, quickly followed by rage as he shot a glare at Marvolo behind me. "This is your magic, isn't it? You turned her into a fucking doll. She wouldn't be saying this after last night!" He lunged forward, fury in his eyes.

I stepped in, shoving him back. "It wasn't his decision, Sebastian. It was mine!"

His anger wavered for a moment as his gaze met mine. Slowly, he took my hands again. "What?" His voice was softer now, edged with disbelief.

"I probably didn't mention it, but last night was my goodbye to you," I said, regret evident in my tone. "I just needed you to be safe, of all people. I had to save your life."

"Save my life?" he echoed. "From what? Who made you choose something like this?"

I swallowed hard. "I bargained with Mr. Gaunt."

Sebastian stilled.

"You were dying, Sebastian. I couldn't live with that." My voice wavered, but I forced myself to continue. "It was either your life—with every restraining order from the Ministry destroyed—or mine, with an arranged marriage to Marvolo in two years. If I didn't agree, you would have either died last night or been sent to Azkaban for twelve years after everything you've done."

His expression flickered between disbelief and heartbreak as his gaze darted from me to Marvolo. For the first time, I saw genuine fear in his eyes.

"You chose my life over yours?" His voice was barely above a whisper.

I nodded. "I did."

Sebastian's hands trembled as he pushed mine away. "Are you bloody insane, sweetheart?!" he snapped.

"I told her the same thing, Sebastian," Ominis interjected, trying to steady him. "But she did it for you."

"You shouldn't have!" A tear welled in Sebastian's eye, though he quickly blinked it away. "I'm not worth saving. You should have let me die in that fucking dungeon. I deserved my punishment for everything I've done."

His voice cracked, and my chest ached at the sight of him—Sebastian, who never cried, who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders but never let it break him.

"You know I love you, Angelina," he said, voice raw, "but you made the wrong decision. Let's go to Mr. Gaunt right now and reverse it all." He grabbed my hand, ready to pull me toward the door.

"It's too late, Sebastian!" I yanked my hand back. "The contract has already been signed. Mr. Gaunt got what he wanted—me as part of the family. He won't undo the deal."

"We can try!" Sebastian shouted.

"Please, stop," I pleaded.

He ignored me, gripping my wrist and pulling me closer. "Last night, I asked you to wait for me," he whispered, his breath hot against my ear. "And you said yes. You wanted to fu—" He stopped himself, his fingers tightening around mine. "You wanted to fuck me. You kissed me over and over. You chose me, I'm sure of it."
