-The future-
Year 1898 - Gaunt manor - South wing
;Angella her visit at the manor after her trip to spain with Marvolo;
I was walking through the south wing of the mansion when familiar voices drifted from one of the rooms on my left. Curious, I moved closer, pressing my ear against the door without revealing myself.
"And what happened after that?" a deep, familiar voice asked.
"They almost kissed while she was sitting on his lap... I couldn't believe my eyes. But she ran away before it could happen," a female voice responded.
I recognized them instantly—Anne and Ominis. My suspicions were confirmed as I carefully peeked inside. They were seated in two elegant chairs, sipping their tea.
"So she didn't kiss him?" Ominis asked, looking genuinely surprised.
Anne shook her head. "Ella and Seb hate each other. Why would they?"
Ominis took another slow sip, tracing his fingers absentmindedly over the floral pattern of his chair. "I'm not so sure I believe that..."
Grinning, I lowered myself to the ground outside the door, settling in to enjoy their gossip as I often did.
Anne placed her teacup down with a soft clink. "You clearly know something I don't!"
"He doesn't hate her," Ominis said simply. "Not really. She makes him feel things he refuses to acknowledge."
Anne sighed. "Well, he did ask me to keep her away from your brother—a couple of times, actually."
Ominis' posture stiffened. "Did he say why?" His tone turned unreadable, laced with quiet tension.
She chuckled. "You know how he is, Ominis. A book of secrets. All he told me was that Marvolo is a prick, and he was furious that he touched her in the first place. He clearly wanted to know if Marvolo loved Ella."
Ominis lowered his voice. "He told me the same thing... But I don't remember them being together during our time camping. So maybe it's all a lie?"
Anne nearly choked on her tea, coughing before regaining her composure. "No, he's definitely right about that, darling. Your memories were removed to avoid trouble. They were together."
A long silence followed.
Ominis exhaled sharply. "Merlin... I don't know what's worse—the fact that you and Sebastian know more than I do, or that you're telling me my best friend and my brother were bedding each other."
Anne giggled. "Bedding each other? Ominis, how unbelievably formal of you. But yes, they were fucking—hard."
Ominis flinched. "Anne, watch your language!"
She laughed but didn't take it back.
Another stretch of silence followed before I heard the sound of someone standing up, footsteps pacing back and forth.
"It doesn't add up," Ominis murmured. "If they weren't truly together, why would my brother be courting her tonight? Something has changed... And it's the same reason why he insisted on taking her to Spain in the first place."
Anne huffed. "Wait—she's going to Spain? What the fuck? And why are we the only ones who don't know?"
I grinned, leaning against the doorway. "Because you two gossip too much."
