Never have I ever.. been in love

"Is that everything?" I asked, settling onto the lower stairs, facing a certain brown-haired individual.

It was six in the morning, marking the start of autumn break. We had a full week off, and this time, I had chosen to stay at Hogwarts to take care of a few things.

At the top of my to-do list was today's plan.

"I guess this is it. Did you really think I'd lug all that heavy stuff around?" Poppy smirked. "I cast a special charm on the bags—now they're lightweight. Makes traveling easier."

With a soft thud, the equipment-filled bag landed at my feet, rustling slightly as it settled. I stared at it in disbelief.

"What the fuck was that?"

Poppy grinned. "That would be the pegs for the tent..." She plopped down beside me, and together, we waited for our final companion to arrive.

After my recovery in the infirmary, Professor Hecat had asked me what I wanted in return for completing her dangerous quest. My request? A special camping trip to the high mountains, where I could release my unicorns.

She had generously arranged a magical tent for me—one that appeared small on the outside but had two spacious compartments within. Along with it, she gifted me a cargo chest filled with basic camping gear and supplies.

When I told Ominis about the trip, he had been ecstatic. He had always helped me care for the unicorns in my vivarium, so naturally, he insisted on coming along.

"Just behave for once, Gaunt. I don't want to be searching for you in the woods," a deep voice called out.

"I'll be fine, man..." The sound of approaching footsteps grew louder until two figures rounded the corner.

Ominis chuckled as he came to stand before us. "Hello, ladies," he greeted with a smile.

Poppy and I stood to embrace him, while Sebastian, trailing just behind, silently observed. His gaze flicked between Ominis and me, his brow furrowing ever so slightly at our tight hug.

Ominis took both of my hands in his. "I hope you don't mind, but I've brought some company. He insisted on coming when he found out I was going camping with you, Ella."

I glanced over his shoulder at Sebastian, then back at Ominis, feeling a twinge of unease.

Leaning in, I whispered, "You're not bringing Sallow, are you?"

Ominis chuckled, shaking his head. "Come on, do you really think that little of me? It's a surprise—he's waiting outside by our carrier."

As Poppy, Ominis, and I made our way toward the west exit of Hogwarts, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following us. Every so often, I glanced over my shoulder, yet I saw nothing. Still, I knew he was there—hidden, using magic to stay unseen. And it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that someone was none other than Sebastian Sallow.

A few more steps, and we would reach the end of the bridge. My heart pounded with anticipation as I silently hoped Ominis had brought his brother along.

Peeking around the corner, I spotted a tall, striking figure leaning against the carrier, his presence commanding. Dressed in a long black trench coat, tailored gray trousers, and a neatly tucked white t-shirt, he stood with his hands casually buried in his pockets. Something rested between his lips.
