Two years later

Maeve's point of view

I did everyhing right this race, just like the other ones. To be crowned here in Abu Dhabi is amazing and it feels so good to know that no one matched my pace to have a real title fight. I'm back, with my first world champion title with Red Bull

My car hurtles through the last corner, the world around me blurring in the exhilaration of speed. I cross the finish line, and an overwhelming tide of emotions washes over me.

RADIO: YES MAEVE! You did it! Du bist Weltmeister! I'm so glad you came back, and here's to many more years to come!

MAE: Thank you all so much! I want to thank Horner for this incredible opportunity, I want to thank the whole Red Bull team. I love you all. Thank you Owen, for keeping me company during these races and like you said many more to come, thank you for choosing to come with me to the next step in my career, driving for Ferrari, just like my dad.

HOR: It was an honor, Maeve. We wish you the best of luck with Ferrari and we look forward to seeing you on track. You were one of the best I've ever had. Wow, I'm tearing up a bit.

MAE: Don't cry, we'll celebrate! I'll always be a Red Bull child.

Sienna's point of view

'Hervé Jules Leclerc! Stop hitting your sister!' Luciana calls out to her twin toddlers, her voice a mix of authority and motherness. 'And Isabella Fréderique Leclerc, if I catch you making that face again, your favorite plushie is going into time-out!'.

I chuckle, a hand resting on my belly. 'Oh god, I hope my child is an angel,' I say, shaking my head playfully.

Luciana lets out a resigned sigh. 'Trust me, they're only angels when they're asleep'.

'They definitely take after their mother', Charles replies, planting a gentle kiss on Luciana's head.

'Well, my little girl is going to be just like me, right?', Lando grins as he leans down to kiss my belly.

'LANDO!' I exclaim, shooting him a mock glare. 'You just ruined our gender reveal!'

'Oh shit', he chuckles sheepishly.

'Is it a girl?' Luciana gasps, excitement lighting up her face.

Maeve pulls me into a tight hug. 'OMG, it's a girl!'

'It's a girl!', I beam back at her, the joy bubbling within me.

'And she'll grow up surrounded by her best friends', Lando announces proudly. 'You all can come visit us at our vacation home in Spain'.

'Wait, so you bought it? Congratulations, you two!', Max smiles at them, holding Sebastian hand (who's ready to run away).

'Yeah, we did! I even have a room dedicated to all my trophies 32 race wins and counting!' Norris boasts, grinning from ear to ear.

I roll my eyes playfully. 'Yeah, yeah, brag away, Mr. Trophy', I tease, knowing all too well how proud I am of him.

'Wow, so now all three of us are married to Formula One drivers?', Luciana remarks, looking at Maeve and me.

'Almost all of us', I reply, a playful glint in my eye. 'I've got the ring, just not the party yet'.

Norris smirks. 'That's because I want it to be the best wedding you'll ever have, you know, so you wouldn't want to do it again... with another man', he laughs. 'Well, we can throw a party anytime! Just say the word, and I'll make sure it's the biggest bash ever!'

That evening

Luciana's point of view

I sit at the long table with my friends, we decided to go to dinner with all of us. The atmosphere is alive with warmth and laughter. The flickering candlelight dances across our faces and the aroma of delicious food envelops us like a cozy blanket. The whole lot of us are gathered together, sharing in the joy of our journey thus far.

'Max, put your phone down', Maeve sighs.

'Sorry, it's just my dad, asking about Sebastian. He also says he is so proud of you for being a world champion now', Max glows, his dad has reached out and they are slowly improving their relationship. Trauma isn't fixed in a second, but they are working on it and Jos is really showing interest in Max's life outside of racing.

'I know, he told me like 600 times in the garage. Tell him he can babysit Sebastian on Friday', she smiles. 'Can you believe how far we've come?', Maeve's voice fills the air, a mixture of nostalgia and excitement. 'It's so weird to think Carlos is heading to Mercedes and I got recommended for his seat at Ferrari! It feels surreal.

Max's face lights up with pride. 'You're going to crush it there, Maeve. And I can't wait for the title battle that's about to unfold! It's going to be intense with you, Leclerc, and Norris all on the grid. The fans are in for a treat'.

Lando chimes in with his trademark enthusiasm, 'Yeah I know, it'll be so exciting'.

As the conversations flow, I can't help but feel an emotional wave wash over me. I look around the table at my friends, their smiles bright but tinged with an unspoken emotion. 'It's funny', I interject, my voice tinged with warmth. 'How three dumb ideas turned into three brilliant ideas'.

Lando has a playful grin, mischief sparkling in his eyes. 'Maybe I'll throw a party to celebrate all of our engagements! It's not every day you get to celebrate marrying the best drivers in the world!'

Even though he has made a joke tears well in my eyes as I nod in agreement, my heart swelling with emotion. This moment is precious, a snapshot of our lives that we'll hold onto tightly. It feels like we're standing on the brink of something new, beautiful, and uncertain.

'This isn't the end of our friendship', Charles says, his tone determined and reassuring. 'It's just another beginning. We're going to keep supporting each other, no matter what the future holds'.

Maeve wipes her eyes and smiles through her tears. 'Exactly. We'll always have each other, through the highs and lows, on and off the track'.

As our meals are served, we dive into more stories, reminiscing about our adventures, the laughter, the tears, the victories, and the losses. Maeve has even chosen a song to play during dinner, she chose war of hearts, which I think represents all of us. When the time comes, we lift our glasses, ready for a toast.

'To friendship', I say, my voice steady despite the emotions swirling within me.

'To friendship!', we all echo, the sound ringing out like a promise.

I glance at Maeve holding Max close, her joy radiant. The future may hold uncertainties, but one thing is clear: no matter where we go, we will always be a team, forever intertwined in this beautiful, chaotic life we've built together. As I look around at my friends, I know this is just the beginning of a new chapter in our story, one filled with love, laughter, and racing dreams.
