Ye Wenxin noticed something strange in Ling Jue's attitude and, upon reconsideration of her earlier words, realized that Ling Jue had misunderstood her. When she mentioned resolving things herself, she meant using her cultivation to neutralize the effects of the medicine, not the peculiar idea that seemed to have formed in Ling Jue's mind.
But the misunderstanding had already occurred, and Ye Wenxin found it difficult to provide a clear explanation. So, she simply closed her eyes and focused on the method of making the Qingxin Pill, trying to simulate the process in her mind, realizing it wasn't as challenging as she had imagined.
She considered borrowing herbs from Ling Jue, or if necessary, buying them from the town with the spirit stones she had previously acquired—enough to buy out the town's entire stock. However, since the Qingxin Pill was a secret remedy, she could only make it in secret.
Ideally, she needed to find a place where Ling Jue wouldn't discover her, allowing her to freely unleash her cultivation and properly refine the pill.
As her thoughts continued to swirl, Ye Wenxin found herself wide awake, eager to sneak out at night to practice alchemy. Unfortunately, she had agreed to sleep alongside Ling Jue, which prevented her from leaving.
In the Cangyu Sect, many of her actions were restricted, and she had to maintain the guise of a child who had just broken through the Qi Refining stage.
"It's late; we should rest," Ling Jue said, having finished an entire book, noticing Ye Wenxin still immersed in refining the formula, and reminded her that it was time to sleep.
Absentmindedly, Ye Wenxin agreed, naturally lying beside Ling Jue, but her mind remained occupied with the formula. She continued to ponder, deciding to first focus on a second-tier pill before considering the Qingxin Pill...
Time flew by, and a month passed in the blink of an eye. Ye Wenxin successfully refined her first second-tier pill, achieving this milestone several months earlier than Ling Jue had anticipated.
With the recruitment event scheduled for two weeks later, Ling Jue wanted Ye Wenxin to be in the best possible condition, so she granted her a two-week break to relax.
Once Ye Wenxin became a disciple of the Cangyu Sect, her studies would extend beyond alchemy to include the sect's mental techniques and swordsmanship, potentially leaving her with little time for alchemy.
Yet, improving her cultivation would lay a solid foundation for crafting her second pill. Ling Jue, though reluctant to lose time with Ye Wenxin, had to consider the bigger picture.
"Why haven’t I seen Wenxin today? You're not..." Long Qing'er and Ling Jue's daily bickering continued, but to onlookers, it appeared as a harmonious scene between two equally talented individuals.
"With the recruitment event in two weeks, I gave Wenxin some time off," Ling Jue, despite her irritation, explained her plans to Long Qing'er. However, Long Qing'er seemed unfazed and even smiled.
"You finally let Wenxin have a break. Great! I can take her down the mountain for some fun," Long Qing'er said, handing her herbs to a nearby disciple and striding towards the courtyard.
Ling Jue was momentarily stunned but quickly followed, worried Long Qing'er might lead Ye Wenxin astray, leaving her lonely on the mountain.
