While Ye Wenxin was racking her brains on how to persuade Huang Hanyan not to be swayed by fate and to hold onto her grand ideal of cultivation, Huang Hanyan spoke up first.

"Junior Sister Wenxin, does what you said earlier still hold?" Huang Hanyan spoke calmly, even though she had just seen her fiancé, she managed to suppress her anger.

"Which part?" Ye Wenxin was momentarily puzzled. She had said many things to Huang Hanyan today and couldn't immediately recall which part she was referring to.

"The part where you said that whatever I ask from you now, you'll demand back double in the future," Huang Hanyan reminded her, somewhat exasperated, recalling what she considered Ye Wenxin's most impressive statement of the day.

"Of course."

"Then, could you buy that for me?" Huang Hanyan pointed towards a stall.

"Jewelry, huh? No problem," Ye Wenxin replied enthusiastically. She not only had pocket money from Ling Jue but also a significant income of spirit stones (from her plundering).

"No, it's that," Huang Hanyan shook her head but continued pointing towards the jewelry stall, making Ye Wenxin curious. Upon closer inspection, she noticed a vendor selling candied hawthorn.

As a staple in many ancient novels, it also appeared in Ye Wenxin's world.

Ye Wenxin immediately agreed and was about to pull Huang Hanyan along when she noticed that Huang Hanyan seemed hesitant, perhaps feeling embarrassed to crave candied hawthorn at her age.

"I'll go get it," Ye Wenxin said, releasing Huang Hanyan's hand and weaving through the bustling crowd to reach the vendor.

"Little girl, which kind would you like?" the vendor asked with a smile.

"One of each, please," Ye Wenxin replied, eyeing the colorful display of candied hawthorn, unsure of what they were made from or what Huang Hanyan liked, so she decided to buy one of each.

"These aren't cheap," the vendor warned.

"Is one spirit stone enough?" Ye Wenxin asked, pulling a spirit stone from her pouch. The vendor nodded immediately, "That's more than enough. I'll give you change."

The vendor's attitude became respectful, quickly wrapping each type of candied hawthorn and handing them to Ye Wenxin. She returned to where Huang Hanyan was waiting, but noticed Huang Hanyan's gaze fixed on a stall.

The stall displayed jewelry made of spirit stones, shimmering and beautiful. However, such jewelry was quite expensive and mostly decorative, appealing mainly to female cultivators.

Huang Hanyan, being at the age to enjoy these trinkets, caught Ye Wenxin's attention, stirring her maternal instincts even though she herself appeared as a young girl.

"Senior Sister Huang, I'm back," Ye Wenxin announced, appearing before Huang Hanyan with a bunch of candied hawthorn.

"Wow... so many," Huang Hanyan exclaimed, surprised by the large quantity of candied hawthorn Ye Wenxin was holding.
