Ye Wenxin was both surprised and a little puzzled.

"It's been suffocating these days, those people..." Ling Jue hesitated, not one to complain, especially not to Ye Wenxin, about her recent frustrations. After a moment, she hugged Ye Wenxin tightly, choosing not to voice her discontent.

"I often see you surrounded by a bunch of female cultivators," Ye Wenxin recalled Ling Jue's recent state and chuckled mischievously.

Truthfully, she found a certain schadenfreude in seeing so many drawn to Ling Jue's exterior, unaware of the gentle and beautiful woman beneath. But now, seeing Ling Jue so exhausted, Ye Wenxin felt a pang of sympathy.

Living behind a façade wasn't easy for everyone.

"Aren't you jealous, Wenxin?" Ling Jue asked, slightly aggrieved, though she recalled that her appearance wasn't to Ye Wenxin's taste, refraining from more intimate gestures.

"Why should I be? Our agreement is far off," Ye Wenxin retorted with a smile, thinking the pact would take centuries to fulfill. By then, she might have ascended to immortality, waiting elsewhere for Ling Jue, a cycle of unfulfilled promises.

With this thought, Ye Wenxin dared to make the agreement.

"You're so mischievous, Wenxin, but I know I'm too impatient," Ling Jue grumbled, though not truly upset.

When affection is one-sided, it becomes a long battle. She had faith that one day Ye Wenxin would return her feelings.

"Sister Ling, if you fulfill the agreement and I grow to love you, what would you do next?" Ye Wenxin couldn't help but ask, unsettled by the recent confessions.

It was as if she'd stepped into a world of domineering romances, where others disregarded her own opinions.

Ling Jue gently clasped Ye Wenxin's hand, curious but hopeful about the future. "I'd resign as Valley Master, travel the world with you, and flaunt our happiness to everyone," she imagined, her smile widening as she envisioned such a life.

"Together through thick and thin?"

"That's one way to put it. But using medicine, I can better express my feelings," Ling Jue mused, believing her expertise in pharmacology best conveyed her emotions.

"I want to cherish you, refine you into the most precious elixir."

Ye Wenxin laughed at Ling Jue's words, finding them amusing. "Wouldn't I melt then?"

"That's the point, so I can consume you," Ling Jue's laughter grew, her eyes serious yet playful, leaving Ye Wenxin feeling something was amiss.

"Sister Ling, you're turning from sweet to yandere," Ye Wenxin teased, sensing Ling Jue's possessive nature growing, unable to curb it.

"What is a yandere?" Ling Jue, not from Earth, didn't grasp Ye Wenxin's mindset but was relieved to see her smile.

"I noticed you seemed down, so I ditched them to find you. Does my hug help?" Ling Jue asked.

"Hmm, if it were a big sister's hug, maybe more so," Ye Wenxin teased.

"Wenxin, you're too much. You know I can't..." Ling Jue sighed, knowing only Ye Wenxin dared to joke about her gender, accepting her fate as Ye Wenxin playfully rejected her male guise.
