Ye Wenxin sensed trouble brewing but couldn't escape, so she reluctantly agreed to follow Long Qing'er. Their relationship became a hot topic of conversation, once again thrusting Ye Wenxin into the spotlight. It was evident that her wish to discreetly approach and eliminate Fairy Feng Ya was becoming increasingly impossible. Her fame only delayed her access to Feng Ya.

Regardless, Ye Wenxin followed Long Qing'er out of the dining hall, where the crowd thinned, and people tactfully left them to their reunion.

"Tell me why you're with Ling Jue," Long Qing'er asked, her voice calm but with an underlying intensity that suggested a single wrong word could incite her wrath, potentially reducing Ye Wenxin to ashes.

Ye Wenxin swallowed nervously, recounting how she had met Ling Jue while training in the forest to pass the time.

"My parents used to run a herbal shop, so I'm quite familiar with herbs. Over time, Ling Jue decided to make me her assistant," she explained, omitting her alchemy skills, which had caught Ling Jue's interest.

"Oh, so you both stayed in the forest for a month? That hypocrite didn't do anything to you, did he?" Long Qing'er's eyes were sharp, filled with hostility towards Ling Jue.

"Ling Jue didn't do anything to me, Sister Long, rest assured. Besides, his target is Fairy Fengya." Ye Wenxin's response was firm, acknowledging that only someone like Fairy Fengya could draw someone of Ling Jue's stature to teach at a sect.

Teaching alchemy, a vital survival skill, could cause quite a stir if rumors spread to other sects.

"Hmph! It's because Ling Jue's target is Fairy Feng Ya that I despise that hypocrite. No, all men approaching Fairy Feng Ya deserve to die!" Long Qing'er seethed with murderous intent, wishing to dismember Ling Jue. Her fervent admiration for Feng Ya made her antagonistic towards anyone close to Ling Jue.

"Could it be that Ling Jue is using you, this little girl, to get close to Fairy Feng Ya?" Long Qing'er speculated, directing her murderous intent towards Ye Wenxin. Being around Long Qing'er was like being with a tiger; her moods were unpredictable. Ye Wenxin shivered, realizing she had been misled by Long Qing'er's earlier kindness.

Long Qing'er was a die-hard fan, like a mad dog biting anyone associated with Fairy Feng Ya. Thankfully, Ye Wenxin hadn't revealed her intention to harm Feng Ya to Long Qing'er, or she would have gained another formidable enemy.

Yet now, she didn't know how to clear up this misunderstanding.

Ling Jue was a woman; her interest in Fairy Fengya wasn't romantic. However, Ye Wenxin couldn't articulate the real reason.

If she lied, Long Qing'er might think she was bribed by Ling Jue, worsening their relationship. Ye Wenxin decided to remain silent, letting her silence speak for her.

"You... never mind, I don't mean to trouble you. Just tell Ling Jue that if he tries anything funny with Fairy Feng Ya, I won't spare him!" Long Qing'er stated earnestly, speaking on her own behalf without invoking her family's influence.

Unfortunately, romantic relationships between women remained challenging, especially without cultivation techniques for dual cultivation. In Ye Wenxin's memory, no women had ever formed a dao partnership with each other.

Loving Fairy Feng Ya was difficult, and forming a dao partnership with another woman was even harder, especially given Long Qing'er's special status. The Shengshi Dynasty wouldn't tolerate such a scandal.
