Upon entering her room, Ye Wenxin noticed her future roommate busily arranging her bed. The slender figure suggested she was a well-bred young lady. Hearing the door, the roommate looked up at Ye Wenxin.

Ye Wenxin also took the opportunity to observe the girl, who had a scholarly air and a delicate appearance, but seemed aloof and uninterested in engaging with her.

Sensing the silence, Ye Wenxin introduced herself, "Hello, I'm Ye Wenxin."

"I'm Baili Mu," the girl replied, her tone lacking the warmth her delicate appearance might suggest, maintaining a deliberate distance from Ye Wenxin. After the brief introduction, Baili Mu returned to her tasks, leaving Ye Wenxin to sort her own belongings.

Ye Wenxin observed Baili Mu's meticulous setup, noting the neatly arranged books and tidy bed, indicating her serious nature—a type Ye Wenxin found challenging to deal with.

However, since Cangyu Sect was like a small school, Ye Wenxin didn't bother asking for a room change and began organizing her own area with the items she had bought during her trip to town.

The two remained silent until the lunchtime bell rang, prompting Baili Mu to speak for the second time.

"Shall we eat?"

"Sure," Ye Wenxin agreed and left with Baili Mu for the dining hall.

Previously informed, Ye Wenxin knew the dining hall was centrally located among the twelve sects, serving all disciples. However, the meal offerings varied between inner and outer sects.

Outer sect members had simple meals to prepare for fasting, while the inner sect enjoyed balanced meals with some beast meat. True disciples, being of higher status, often dined in the teachers' dining hall, making them rare sights.

As Ye Wenxin entered the dining hall, she felt a mix of anticipation and anxiety. She hoped to see familiar faces yet feared recognition might disrupt her low-profile life at Cangyu Sect.

Her fears were unnecessary, as most disciples were still in classes, leaving the dining hall sparsely populated.

Still, Ye Wenxin spotted familiar faces: the chubby one, along with Big Bear, Monkey, and Cobra, who had all been part of past adventures with Gu Aotian.

Though she still couldn't remember their names, she had given them nicknames based on their traits. Seeing Ye Wenxin, they brightened with joy.

Ye Wenxin instinctively moved to join them but remembered she had come with Baili Mu. She glanced back at Baili Mu.

"Go ahead," Baili Mu said nonchalantly, focusing on her meal as if inviting Ye Wenxin was merely a courtesy.

Feeling a bit speechless, Ye Wenxin suspected Baili Mu might have mild social anxiety. Opting for the lively group, Ye Wenxin joined the others.

Baili Mu's eyes briefly flashed with disdain before she turned her attention back to her plain meal, frowning but eating nonetheless.

"Your roommate seems a bit cold," the chubby one commented after glancing at Baili Mu, pegging her as a wealthy heiress now studying at Cangyu Sect.

"Eat quietly," Ye Wenxin advised, effectively silencing him.

As classes ended, the dining hall filled up, and Ye Wenxin's unusual group attracted attention. At thirteen, Ye Wenxin was a budding beauty, her natural look enhanced only by a hairpin. Without Gu Xiangsi and other beauties around, her presence among male disciples seemed bold.
