Nanami whipped his door open after incessant banging, his mouth about to shout some choice words snapping shut at the sight of you. Any anger quickly melted away into confusion, despite it he opened his arms to you. In his comfort you broke down, cries rattling his head. Rapidly your breaths began speeding up, cries coming out with every exhale. You were quickly working yourself up beyond repair, and so he squeezed you and spoke gently. "Take a deep breath with me. In, and out."

It took a moment to actually follow his direction, hiccuping as you sucked in unsteady breaths. Tears continued to fall but you were no longer on the cusp of hysterics. Nanami slowly pulled away from the hug, directing you onto his bed and crouching in front of you. He had been tired, signs of it still present in his drooped eyes and tousled hair, but now he was on high alert. His first thought had been Gojo was in for it, he would wring the sorcerers neck if he had to. Somehow. A sniffle broke him from his thoughts, reminding himself to not get too far ahead before hearing the story. "What happened?"

You didn't answer right away, gaze focused on your hands in your lap. Your lashes were wet, small drops hanging on for dear life before they fell onto your cheeks. "He wouldn't kiss me." You rasped, swallowing the ball in your throat.

It seemed like such a trivial matter to break down over, maybe the alcohol on your breath wasn't helping, but he knew it wasn't that simple. Nanami sighed softly, bowing his head for a second before picking it back up. "Have you been drinking Y/n?" He knew the answer already of course, but he was testing your truthfulness.

Although hesitant to answer you slowly nodded, "Yeah."

"So perhaps Gojo just wanted you in your right mind for that moment." He offered. Due to Gojo's loud mouth, he was aware of some aspects of the situation. Gojo was worried to overstep a boundary after the ritual, but he was far from your cutoff line. A simple misunderstanding that simmered a little too long and now the pot had boiled over.

However you didn't seem to want to hear out any reasoning, tears picking back up. In your current state of mind you were convinced Gojo's lack of affection after you had directly asked was a complete and total rejection. Rejection of you, not just a kiss.

Nanami realized this, and he couldn't find himself to blame you after the ritual. He couldn't even begin to imagine the strain such a thing placed on a relationship. But he couldn't blame Gojo either. Afterall he was keeping his promise, being careful with you. Nanami found exhaustion creeping up on him once again, meeting your sparkly gaze. "I think you should get some rest. Think it over in the morning, alright?"

You nodded in agreement, between the alcohol and crying it felt as if your head was floating and your eyes were burning.

Moments later Nanami stared down at the girl passed out in his bed, sighing heavily and dragging a hand down his face.

"I can't stand you."

Gojo followed the mans form as he entered the room and sat on the couch opposite, newspaper and coffee in hand. He sighed dramatically, throwing his head back. "Nanami, I don't know if my heart can handle anymore hate right now."

The blonde rolled his eyes, "She doesn't hate you."

"Sure felt like it." Gojo mumbled, running a hand through his hair.
