"it's spring!" i walked out of the house to meet billie, that was waiting for me outside her car. "i can finally wear my style without freezing all the time."

"maybe that was why you got sick." she told me.

"probably, but that doesn't stop me." i shrugged and hugged her. "the dangerous duo i see, sexy glasses and a backwards cap huh?" i kissed her cheek.

"grilz and everything. all for you." she kissed my cheek and opened the door for me. she walked all the way around to the drivers seat and joined me inside.

"juniper has been asking about you." i confessed. "she's been hearing your name a lot and she like, 'billie?'"

"oh she's definitely getting spoiled on her birthday." billie answered.

"no, you're not spending a lot of money on something she's going to grow out of in a few weeks." i shook my head.

"i'm not, okay. but ill spend money on something i think she's really going to like. i don't know what yet. but something." she told me.

"fine and you're meeting luna if you didn't put two and two together." i told her.

"yeah i figured." she nodded.

"luna has a person now." i mentioned.

"so you're both meeting someone on your daughter's birthday. it sounds like an adult gathering not a child's birthday party." she laughed.

"no, lots of people are invited from day care and what not. you just aren't around babies and therefore don't know anyone with a baby." i said.

"true, but i'm waiting for a niece or nephew, been waiting for forever." she huffed.

the car ride was pretty short, traffic was light and we were singing along to random songs from a playlist billie has put on. once we arrived at local coffee shop that i have never discovered before, billie opened the door for me and we both walked in. we ordered the breakfast we wanted and then there was a moment.

where we both got lost in one another. that moment was going to be the last we weren't going to be complexing our lives with emotions, trying to tie ourselves together and find the right harmony. we were just delilah and billie, going out for breakfast. it was simple and easy to understand.

she was ungodly and easy to look at, i would've rathered ripping my eyes out than taking them off her. the way she was looking at me made my cheeks flush straight to red, she is... incredible and she's looking at me.

"blaze i can't just be your friend anymore." she finally spoke up. "i have feelings for you and it's driving me insane. you're driving me insane." she chuckled at the end.

"we both know that i like you too billie.. more than a friend and more than what we planned on having." i replied.

"was it the gifts or my irresistible charm?" i could see the relief rush through her whole body.

"definitely you irresistible charm." i smiled. "but we need to talk cause it isn't as simple as that." i sighed.

"yeah." she nodded. "i know, your priority is juniper and i will never ever ask you to do anything that'll constrict that."

"billie, if we become something more... i come with a whole lot of baggage. i live with my best friend and her daughter. her husband is back for months and the he leaves again for months, we take care of each other. i co- parent with luna and she is going to be around a lot. you.. are going to have to basically learn how to take care of juni.. in the long run, because i most definitely will not be going into a relationship that is not serious." i told her.
