elle and nathan were open to finding a new house. as much as we loved our house, there was no denying we were growning out of it. iris was starting school the next school year and being around a good school district would have been great as well.

nathan didn't waste anytime finding a real estate agent to help us out, as he was leaving soon, and he wanted to make the process easier for elle. we started house hunting very soon after that. the first few houses, it was only the three of us and then billie joined on the last two. none of the houses were right.

we wanted a house that wasn't too big but wasn't too small, had multiple bathrooms and had a nice backyard for the kids. those were our main concerns and every house lacked at least one of them. a few days later the agent was positive that she found the right house and so we all decided on a time and showed up there.

the girls immediately claimed their room and then ran to the beautiful backyard where they found that swings were already installed. all the four of us adults, only exchanged knowing looks that this would be the one. not only was it perfect but the area it was in was closer to everything. to the park, there was a near by school elle was considering for iris, billie's parents lived near, it was perfect.

"did billie find a moving company or is she packing her things herself?" elle asked. we were making our arrangements for the movers to come on our move out date.

"i'm pretty sure she's doing it herself, but let me call and make sure." i replied and called billie. there was no answer, which is weird because she always responds, but i shrugged it off thinking she would call
me back. an hour went by and i figured she didn't realize someone had called her so i called again and it went to voice mail.

"hello cocoa." i picked up our little man and took him outside. "where do think she is?" i was walking over to the swings, "should we call raymond?" i kissed the bunnies head and called raymond. "hey, is billie with you? cause i haven't heard from her all day."

"no, we're in the studio but she isn't here. i think she sleeping in her apartment or something, cause i did talk to her like a few hours ago." he replied.

"okay, thank you." i hung up, frowning deeply. i found myself walking back into the house, putting cocoa in his little fence corner and grabbing my keys. "im going to billie's apartment."

"she called back?"

"no, im going to check on her." i put on my crocs and ran over to my car. i had a bad feeling and i've learned to always trust my gut when it comes to this. my gut is always right, i always know when june isn't okay when elle or... i just know it. my heart was pounding and my breathing was rapid, i was convinced something was wrong.

when i reached her door, i knocked and knocked and rang the doorbell. no answer. i went searching for her spare key and entered the apartment, but i was met with an empty one. i searched every room, the bathroom. she wasn't there.

where would billie go without telling anyone?

i had no idea, but i went with my best bet. arriving there twenty minutes later. as i walked though the parking lot, i searched for hers in hopes of calming myself down, but i couldn't find it. i ran over to our spot but she wasn't there either.

i wasn't sure if i was overreacting but i just knew i had to find her. i called her phone again and this time it went straight to voicemail. the wind was blowing my hair away from my face as i scanned the people around me. a figure by the shore called out to me and i hurried over.
