Chapter 141: Marineford, The Marine Headquarters and the Devastating War

Just as they managed to pry themselves from Blackbeard and his crew, they found their escape route obstructed again. Blocking their way to Level 3, was the reawakened Minotaur, who was roaring fiercely at the escaped prisoners. It was bandaged everywhere, but appeared to be well enough to fight.

Both the prisoners and the members of the Newkama Land stood perfectly still, not knowing what to do.

Seeing his brother get hurt by the man who put his other brother in jail had really ticked Luffy off, so he was in no mood to screw around with the huge cow. So, he walked right up to it.

The Minotaur attempted to smash Luffy with its club, but Luffy's rubbery body absorbed the blow. He went into Gear 2 and hit it with a Jet Pistol to the gut. It was sent flying across the staircase and slammed into a nearby wall.

With the path cleared, all the escapees ran up the stairs. They were halfway up when a roaring voice was heard behind them.

"STRAWHAT! DEMON!", Magellan bellowed with rage as his voice shook the hallway.

"What? Was that Magellan's voice?", someone exclaimed in terror.

"He's at the bottom of the stairs! If he catches us , we're finished!", someone else yelled.

The group finally reached Level 3, but Magellan was charginf behind them with his Hydra, absorbing many prisoners in his way.

Yushiro looked back for a second and whistled. "Wow... Did he actually defeat Blackbeard? That's awesome..."

"Stop daydreaming Yu-chan! Look ahead!", Bon Clay yelled. "Keep running!"

"Oops!", Yushiro let out and ran beside Luffy, not looking back again.

Iva stopped and pointed at the staircase that led to Level 2. "Get moving!"

All the prisoners and the Newkama Land ran past him in a hurry. All of them barely spared Iva a glance as they ran up the stairs.

Strangely, Magellan had stopped following them along with his Hydras. There was a loud crash that followed when they reached the second Level, but nobody had bothered to turn around and check what was happening.

Unline Level 4, security was light. There were no guards in the area and it was quiet, although the floors were damaged, as though some kind of riot had happened. There was also residue of poison clinging onto the walls and floor. Magellan had definitely been up there.

They were grateful for the non-existing human guards, but not for the beasts that still roamed this floor.

Yushiro and the others (the important ones and some npcs) dodged the bites, but other prisoners weren't as lucky and got devoured. They were screaming for help, but everyone was on survival mode and kept running.

"That's weird. The poison guy was behind us just a second ago.", Luffy said as he glanced behind him.

"You just noticed?", Yushiro said dryly.

"Iva and Inazuma stopped him at the doorway!", Bon Clay yelled as he fought the beasts that attempted to maul him.

Luffy stopped running as the impact of Bon Clay's words hit him. "Then they're fighting the poison guy now?! Let's help them!"

Yushiro stopped when he heard that , grabbed Luffy's hand, and ran. "Idiot! That's all the more reason to keep running! I don't want to do this either since they saved you but... Let's believe in them!"
