My Only Hope

Chapter 44

We got to the office and went inside.
"Glad you guys came" Brooklyn says as we sit down.
"So what did you need us for?" I ask
"Well I am close with the makers of Mac cosmetics and they photographers in New York" she says
"I showed them you and they absolutely loved you" she says to me.
"So?.." I say
"The are launching new winter lipsticks and lashes and they want you to be the model for them!" She says excitedly.
"Seriously?!" I ask
"Yep!" She says
"That's amazing!" Cameron says
"The only thing is they want you to fly out to NY tomorrow evening" she says.
"For how long?" I ask
"Well you'd get there and have photoshoots for two days then the next flight back would be in 3 days so you'd be there for 6 days" she says
"Cameron can't come?" I ask
"Hey this is a huge opportunity, wether I go or not you should!" Cam says.
"I guess, what time does the flight leave?" I ask
"Tomorrow at 3, You'll be flying first class" she says
"Oo fancy" cam laughs.
"Okay! I'll do it!" I smile.
"Great can't wait to see how it turns out!" She says

"You sure I'm going to be okay?" I ask
"You'll be fine lilly! Just stay clear of the crowded streets. We are talking about New York." He says
"Yeah, well at least two of the days will be filled with shoots. But the last few days are what I'm worried about" I say packing my last few things.

"Everything packed?" He asks.
"Yeah, 6 whole days? By myself in New York why'd I say yes?!" I say
"Hey you're going to be fine, I promise okay?" He says
"I guess" I say.
We get in the car and drive to the airport.
"Brooklyn said the manager there is picking you up, her name is Lexi" cam says as we get out.
"And you don't need to worry about anything Lexi will be driving you to and from your shoots and everything. She is aware of your anxiety so she'll be extra nice to you. I promise you're going to be fine" he says kissing me.
"See you in six days" I say letting go and leaving. I go through security and everything and get on the plane. I had a window seat and I was seated next to a guy. He had dark brown hair that was messily drooped over his forehead, and bright green eyes.
The plane started to take off and the guy next to me started shaking.
"Are you okay?" I ask him. I knew what was going on.
"I'm fine." He says. But he started breathing heavier.
"It's okay, I have panic attacks too" I give him a small smile.
"Really?" He asks calming down a bit.
"Mhm" I say. "Trust me this will help" I say giving him one of my head phones. I got my laptop out and went on Netflix.
"Gotta stay distracted" I tell him.
"I'm Toby" he smiles
"I'm lilly"

The plane landed and me and Toby walk off.
"So what'd you fly here for?" He asks me.
"I'm going to be in a Mac photoshoot" I say.
"No kidding?" He says
"Yeah I'm a little scared" I say
"No need for that" he says
"Why?"
"Because, I'm actually a photographer. My dad moved here a while ago to be a photographer for Mac, and he's letting me come to his shoots for the next few days to learn more" he smiles.
"Oh cool! So then you must know Lexi?" I ask
"Yeah she's really nice. You'll love her" he says.
We get in the airport and get our bags.
"So how old are you?" He asks me.
"19" I say "what about you?"
"Same, 19" he says
We wait outside it was dark and I was exhausted
We wait for a few minuets until I see a black car pull up and a lady in a purple top and a black pencil skirt gets out.
"Hey Lexi, this is lilly" Toby says
"I was wondering if you guys would run into eachother" she laughs
"Nice to meet you" she says shaking my hand. 
"Your dad is busy so I said I'd give you a ride to your hotel room" she says to Toby. We get in the car and it drives off.
I decided to call cameron cause he wanted me to Call when we landed. Even though it'd be late.
C- hey did you make it safe?
L- yeah just got in the car.
C- good, just needed to know that, do you wanna talk in the morning I'm tired
L- I was about to say the same thing
C- great, love you night.
L- love you too
I hang up.
"Boyfriend?" Toby asks
"Fiancé actually" I smile.
"Is that him?" He asks referring to my phone background. It was a picture someone took of me and cam. We were hugging but we were actually wrestling.
"Yeah that's him" I Say.
We get to the hotel and check in. My room was right across from Toby's.
I get in and instantly go to sleep

I woke up and it was 10 am.
I had a shoot at 2 pm.
I took a shower and got dressed. I tied my hair up and was done. I decided to call cameron.
C- hey babe
L- hey what's up?
C- hanging out with nash and sam you?
There was a knock on the door.
L- well I have a shoot in a few hours
I open the door to see Toby and I let him in telling him one sec
C- cool, so how was the flight?
L- it was fine, actually I have someone here could I call you back later?
C- sure, love you
L- love you too cam.
I hang up.
"Hey" I smile.
"So, I was wondering if you wanted to get some breakfast?" He asks.
"Sure, let me grab my coat" I say grabbing my coat and walk out with him.
"It's snowing!" I squeal as we walk out.
"Yeah I thought you might like that" he laughs as he opens a car door for me.
"My dad got me a personal driver" he says and I get in.
He tells the driver where to go.
We get to this little restraunt  and go in.
"This is my favorite place to go when I visit, it doesn't normally have many people" he smiles.
"I like it" I say as we sit down.
We look through the menu and the waitress came up. "What can I get you two?" She asks.
"I'll have the blackberry pancake breakfast" Toby says
"Make that two" I say
"Will do, finally tying the knot guys?" She asks admiring my ring.
"Oh no he's just a friend my fiancé isn't here" I say
"Oh well congrats" she smiles walking away.
"Thanks" I say.

I am currently getting a purple wig pinned to my head as someone does my makeup. This was a lot more than any little shoots me and cam have done together.
"Perfect! Let's get shooting!" A man who looked to be in his forties with a strong New York accent.
I get up and go to where we were shooting. First we started inside but then moved outside. The snow was falling in me in sure they got some good pictures.
Next we take off the wig and do some inside shoots
Toby was watching his dad fiddle with the camera and Lexi came up to me.
"You're doing great, we have some awesome pictures" she says.
"Cool" I smile and we take some more.
"Great job! Let's take a break" he says.
"Hey you looked awesome" Toby says.
"Thanks, I should probably call cameron can I have a sec?" I say and he nods
C- hey lills what's up?
L- taking a break from the shoot, guess what!
C- what?
L- it's snowing!!
C- lucky!
L- but it's freeezzziiingggg
C- well you'll be back soon enough.
L- yeah it's way different here, like it feels more professional
C- I bet, well I'll let you go, you have a lot to see
L- very true, see you soon
C- love you
