I don't think there's anything to hate about Christmas. The music's catchy, the movie’s are fun, the food’s good, there's gifts, and an excuse to see people you like. It's pretty hard to be upset about something during this time of the year.

“We should definitely be asleep by now,”Y/N spoke before taking another piece of chocolate.

“Yeah, but what fun is that?”I shrugged.

“Well, now Santa won’t come,”She teased, nudging my side.

“He’s magical. He’ll figure it out,”I played along.

“Part of the magic is seeing him. That's what half of those Christmas horror movies are about.”

“Then, we wouldn't survive a Christmas horror movie,”I said simply.

“Well, I want to survive a Christmas horror movie. That's the preferable outcome.”

“It's not yours though.”

Rolling her eyes, she reached for another chocolate. Before she could, I grabbed them and put them on the other side of me. Immediately reacting, she reached over my sides, her arms desperately grasping for them.

Putting my free hand above her, I dropped the Mistletoe from my sleeve, planting it above both our heads. Noticing the way I had shifted, she looked up and spotted what I had taken her treats for.

“Seriously, Sonya?”She sighed, looking at me with amusement.

“You know the rules,”I shrugged.

Rolling her eyes yet again, she gently took my face in her hands and placed a soft kiss on my lips. Letting both the Mistletoe and the candy fall from my hand, I held my palms over her hands and kissed back, taking in her sweet lips and now chocolatey taste.

“You're quite ridiculous. You know that, right?”She checked, settling herself on my lap.

“You love it though.”

“Yeah. That I do.”

“See? That's all that really matters then, isn't it?”

Sighing, she kissed my temple before laying down, her head on my lap and eyes on me.

“Yeah. It is.”

Teamwork truly is how you get things done in life. Or at the very least, how you make whatever you're doing bigger and better.

Both of us were dressed in puffy jackets, thick scarves, warm mittens, and soft hats. With the protection from the cold and frostbite, we started rolling the snow up a hill, pushing past the slight burning until we got to the top, where we set the base for our snowman.

“It's going to be the best snowman ever,”I promised through heavy breaths, placing my hands on my hips as I looked at the single yet huge rolled ball.

“You think this one can be enough for it?”She deadpanned.

“No. I think it needs to be bigger,”I shrugged, looking at me from the corner of my eye. She crossed her arms as she stared at me, silently telling me she was absolutely not working on this one anymore.

“I’m sure we could probably add another inch to me,”I continued, walking forward and admiring it. “Or-”
As I turned around a snowball hit my shoulder. Standing there with an innocent smile, she just shrugged.

“Oh, so you want a war now?”I promised, reaching down and scooping snow up in my hands. With me focused on that, I didn't see her pull a snowball out of her pocket until it was too late. Not bothering to react, I sloppily packed it together before throwing it at her. Ducking her head, she kept eye contact before slowly backing away, making her way down the hill.

The snowman can wait. There's a snowball fight to win.

Us being together didn't stop the traditions we’ve done since we were born. If we wouldn't like each other if we were just friends, we wouldn't be good together. Since we would hang out together no matter what it was, we were more than happy to spend our time together. The night will be spent at her house and the day will be spent at mine.

As per tradition, we had decorated her trampoline in Christmas lights and ornaments. We were cuddled up with blankets after brushing all the ice off the surface. Or as much as we could.

“Go over two,”I instructed. Doing so, she clicked her mouse twice before landing on the greatest Christmas film of all time.

Wrapping the blankets closer to me, I moved over and pushed my head under her arm. The second she clicked play, she wrapped it around my shoulders, pulling me as close as possible.

“So are you going to tell me what you got me yet?”I suggested.

“No. You get to wait a few more hours.”

Rolling my eyes, I rested my head on her shoulder as the movie started. As she ran her fingers up and down my arm I found myself wearing a ridiculously wide grin that I couldn't contain.

I love this girl, and I love our holiday traditions.

“See? This is why we don't leave things until the last minute,”She repeated, still trying to untangle a set of lights as I kept working on the other.

“It wasn't on purpose. One second, it's a normal day, and the next we have Christmas in a few hours,”I defended.

“I would have come over and done it for you.”

“I know. I just thought I would have it covered eventually.”

“Really? How’d that turn out?”She teased, shooting me a playful smile despite her still struggling.

“We’re spending time together so obviously not too bad.”

“That’s how you're going to measure how bad things are?”

“Yeah. We can be like those Cheetah’s that have service dogs. As long as I know you're chill, I will also be chill.”

“Okay, Y/N. Okay.”

“Oh, come on. Where else would you rather be? In your home, not with me, or in mine, where I’m currently standing in?”I pointed out.

“In your house with a decorated tree,”She said simply, untangling the strand. Laying them down, she went behind the tree and against the wall, starting to put the ones I handed her along the branches.

“Very funny,”I deadpanned.

“Thanks. I try.”

I'm in love with a smartass.

She helps get me out of situations that are completely my fault with just some light teasing though so I can't really complain about that. I don't even want to.
