It didn't take long for Marlene and Aries to get passed Mr and Mrs. Potters room down the hall without waking them.
In fact, it was rather simple. Aries knew Euphemia liked to drink an herbal tea before bed and she also knew that Fleamont would take a sip when she wasn't looking.
All it took was a sleeping draught.
"Are you positive it worked?" Lily whispered, opening the door to total darkness.
The boys room was across from them, only a few steps away. Lily could see a light illuminating from under the door, giving her enough to see. With the sound of hushed voices, she knew they were awake as well.
Aries frowned, "no, I'm not positive, in fact they could be awake and listening right now." Lily quickly turned back to Aries with wide eyes, making Marlene snicker.
"Bloody- of course it worked, Lily. I brewed it. Plus the longer it sits, the more potent it gets, we have nothing to worry about." Aries rolled her eyes.
Lily still didn't budge at that, "Lily, I love you, but if you don't move, I will push you." Marlene whispered, her words becoming enough for Lily to take a few steps, meeting the middle of the hall. Marlene walked to her left, Aries coming to the hall on Lily's right, all facing the illuminated door.
"Maybe we shouldn't?" Lily's voice becoming unsure.
Marlene wiggled her brows, not that anyone could see, "if you don't knock, I'll gladly do the honors. Though I'm sure Potter will be more happy to see you first than me."
Aries snickered, only making Lily's cheeks redden and a scoff pull from her lips, "what makes you think he'll answer the door?"
"It's his room, Lily" Marlene said, "plus he's been making eyes at you all day, I'd almost say desperately." She shoulder bumped her red haired friend.
The two went back and forth, arguing about who would open the door and why, making Aries sigh and knock on the door. She made sure to do it gently, knowing James parents were only a few feet down the hall.
Unknown to the girls, she really didn't know how long the potion would last. She had made it special for herself, strong enough to withstand pain and yelling, any and every discomfort. Though the draught was made nearly half a year ago.
It is very possible that the draught could be more effective like aging alcohol. But there's also a small chance that it could have the opposite effect, thus making the draught useless.
"Meredith!" Marlene and Lily whisper-yelled in sync.
Before Aries was able to be scolded, the door swung open to a very excited looking Potter. His expression changed, however, at the sight of Aries, "oh."
"Hello, to you too, Potter." Aries raised a brow in sarcasm.
James smiled, resting against the door frame,"Back to last names? I thought we made progress."
"Nice deflection, Potter." Aries raised a brow.
James sighed, "It's not that I didn't want to see you, Black. I was just expecting to see someone else."
Aries could hear Marlene's 'told you so' from before her.
The raven haired girl tilted her head with a grin, "well I hope you don't mind but I was expecting to see someone else as well."
James scrunched his face in disgust, "Remus is playing wizards chess with Sirius, please don't be gross together."
Aries scrunched her face in mock, brushing past him to find her boyfriend and Sirius seated on the latter's bed. The chess board between them already had a lot of broken pieces. It seemed as though Sirius was doing well.
