Aries sat silently at the kitchen counter, a cup of tea in her hands. She stared silently at the muggle pregnancy test that Ted had gone out and bought.
She stared silently trying to figure out what she was supposed to do with it.
"Who's the father?" Andromeda asked, leaning against the table with her own cup of tea, "I suppose you haven't mentioned this to him yet."
Aries shook her head.
"Do I know him?" She asked.
Aries smiled briefly remembering the conversation she had with Andy when she was in the hospital wing, "Not technically. But you'd like him."
"Do you plan to marry him? It seems he's already bent a knee once." Andromeda glanced down to the ring she had on her finger.
Marriage. The thought of it used to make Aries terrified. The way Walburga had explained it, she nearly made Aries believe it was a fate worse than death.
"His name is Remus." Aries admitted, placing a hand over her belly, "It's a little soon, all of it, but marriage doesn't sound so bad with him."
Andromeda smiled softly, "You know when Ted first tried to propose, I was horrified." She giggled, shaking her head, "I was so scared to get married that I didn't even let him drop a knee."
"Really?" Aries asked. Andromeda being anything other than calm was rather surprising.
The girl nodded, a goofy smile on her lips, "he was so confused that day. He thought I was going to break up with him. He didn't even believe me when I reassured him so I took the ring and said I'd marry him to prove it." Andromeda sipped her tea sharing a knowing smile with Aries.
"Sounds like he knew what he was doing." Aries giggled.
"Seems he did." The blonde smiled, "After we got married, Nymphadora came blazing through like a wildfire. I still think it's absolutely bonkers that I have all of this." She admitted.
Aries tilted her head, "Were you ready? When you had Nymph, did you think you would be a good mum?"
Andy quickly shook her head, "I thought I was going to be like mum and dad, worse than Walburga and Orion. Whenever she would cry I would think it was my fault. It took some time to realize that nobody knew what they were doing as a first time mum."
Aries nodded quietly, drinking the rest of her tea, "Well, not that my opinion counts for much but, I think you did good by her."
Andy smiled softly, the compliment meaning more to her than Aries could know.
"Go get some sleep. Ted and I will be taking Dora out for the day so the house will be yours. Don't make too much of a mess." Aries rolled her eyes at that, heading up the stairs to the guest room.
————————
Aries woke up late the next morning, the sun shining lightly through the circular window. She smiled softly, feeling her stomach, thinking about her conversation with Andromeda.
With the house being quiet and secluded, Aries decided to spend her afternoon sketching on the beach. Dresses, outfits, suits, loungewear. She had even sketched little outfits for a baby.
A baby.
Her baby.
Aries closed her eyes in thought. For just a moment, Aries allowed herself to picture a child in her arms. Just one little being smiling back at her. Aries couldn't help but smile.
She also couldn't help but wonder what kind of mother she would grow to be. Would she be anything like Walburga? Would she ever accidentally hit her kid?
