Chapter 80

Addy sat in the armchair facing the door. She hadn't bothered to change into anything nicer as this was really the most effort she could give and she couldn't put any makeup on as she didn't have any anymore. Miss Holmes had been getting some snacks and drinks ready and when Addy had offered to help, Miss Holmes had told her to sit down. Miss Holmes had said that when her sisters were there, she would leave them to it but would sit on the dining table marking some papers or if Addy wanted her out of the room she would go to her room. Addy reassured the woman that she could stay in the room she didn't mind it was her home. Miss Holmes said that in an hour or so she would order them pizza or if they wanted it early just to say. Addy hadn't really said anything as this was all quite overwhelming she had so much running through her head. 

The doorbell rang and Addy stood up and Miss Holmes went to the door. 

"You can sit down, keep off your foot," Miss Holmes said reaching for the handle and Addy remained standing but didn't move to the door. Miss Holmes opened the door and all three girls were stood at the door. 

"Addy!" They yelled and ran over to the girl. They hadn't even spoken to her in the two months she had been gone and it had been hell. They hugged her one and a time and Addy let out a small smile, the most real reaction Miss Holmes had seen her have the whole time she was in the house. Miss Holmes closed the door and went over to the kitchen and brought over the jug of juice and cups for the girls and some chips in a bowl. 

"Thanks Miss," Stacie said sitting down and patting the sofa for Addy to move and come sit next to her. Beca and Emily had noticed Addy's face first and exchanged a look but waiting to at least sit down before saying anything. Miss Holmes left the girls to it and went to go sit at the table. Addy sat inbetween Stacie and Emily and Stacie immedietly starting pouring everyone drinks. Happy to be able to play the big sister role again and take charge. She then immediately grabbed Addy's hand and looked at her face. Beca settled in the arm chair. 

"We have missed you so much, and we can't wait to fill you in on everything. But first what happened to your face?" Stacie said grabbing the girls face. Addy pulled her head out of her hands. 

"It's nothing really, how have you been?" Addy said changing the subject off her. 

"Well, we are good, Em and I both got our casts off, yours changed arm," Beca said, raising her eyebrow at the young girl. Addy looked down. This was the kind of thing she wanted to avoid. She knew her sisters wouldn't take no for an answer, and after being away for so long, she couldn't withhold everything. Addy opened her mouth to answer but Stacie cut her off. 

"And don't say it's nothing, we just want to know what happened?" Stacie said, grabbing the girl's hand again. Addy sighed and took a sip of her drink on the table to stall just before she told the version of the story she could. 

"I wasn't very popular in the group home. Just some girls didn't like me," Addy said. 

"So they broke your arm?" Emily said shocked. 

"They would trip me up and call me names. Basically, if I breathed wrong, they would find a way to beat me up," Addy said looking down. 

"Didn't the women in charge do anything?" Beca asked. 

"Yes, she grounded us both." 

"Why did she ground you as well, do we need to see the other person?" Beca questioned, Miss Holmes, was making a note of what was being said as she could tell the social worker as this wasn't okay. 

"Yes she did, but I didn't hit anyone back. I didn't even say anything. You know me. And she had this rule that no matter what part you played in a fight if you were involved victim or not you would get grounded. I wasn't going to argue." Addy said. Everything knew that Addy wasn't a fighter she felt terrible after having an attitude with anyone, and she would never hit anyone this was outrageous. How could anyone do this to their baby sister?
