i woke up and it was quiet. peaceful. the kind of sleep where you're not even upset that you woke up from it, it was too relaxing too. it was the best sleep i had gotten in a while.

i blinked for a few moments, adjusting to the sudden light around me- too accustomed to my eyes seeing darkness from being closed. i slowly stretched my head up, noticing my hands pressed hard against the bedsheets below me. below me?

it suddenly clicked that i was alone in the bed. könig was no longer next to me, and i was no longer cuddled up to him. my brows knitted together, where was he? i figured that out of all the nights spent together, this one he would be here in the morning for. it was his apartment after all.

i sat up further, taking a moment to let my mind wake up before looking around. i turned and looked around the room, empty as well. the room was dimly lit by a few rays of sun that peeked through the curtains of the windows that were now draped shut. it was awfully peaceful in here, part of me didn't want to get up. however, i was more focused on finding out where he went.

i slowly rose from the bed, adjusting my shirt as i stood up. i peaked to the bathroom and noticed it was dark there too- he wasn't inside either. god, where was he?

i walked out into the hallway, it was brighter in his apartment now but i definitely didn't know my way around enough to start wandering.

"König?" i called out. i heard a crash from a few rooms down.

"Ja!" i heard his voice call out to me. i felt a rush of relief.

i started to follow his voice down the long hallway when he appeared from a doorway on the left. he was in new attire, no longer his usual uniform but instead a fitted black tee and sweats. his mask was still draped over his face. i couldn't help but let my gaze flicker down to how his arms were shown off, and how i could see a faint outline of his torso through the fitting of his shirt. God.

"Are you okay?" König spoke again.

i jumped and tore my gaze, embarrassed.

"Yeah, i-i just couldn't find you when i woke up." i motioned down the hall behind me as i spoke.

"Ah," König seemed to relax as he realized everything was fine. "Sorry, i got up early."

"It's okay." i mumbled, a tinge of guilt in me for making him stress.

König had his hands on frame of the doorway but moved them as he took a step towards me. i looked up and met his gaze.

"Are you hungry?" he asked. i thought for a second and nodded my head in response.

he moved out of the doorway, letting me see into it now. it went into a long open space but i could see the kitchen not too far off. "Come." he motioned for me to head in, placing a hand on my back as i did. my breathe hitched at his touch but i immediately melted into it. i had missed it.

könig guided me into the kitchen, i could hear a light sizzling of a pan on the stove. eggs?

i sat down on a stool seated by an island that faced the stove area. the kitchen was bright with the window curtains open, but as i took in more of his apartment it still had a natural aura of darkness, sleek and cool- not too decorated like the rest of the place. it was sad, since i knew why that was. work- far too busy and far to distant to truly make a sense of a home for himself. he was always such a mystery to me, even when in his own bed and apartment

"what're you making?" i called out.

könig had his back to me now, but turned slightly as he replied "Frühstück- uh, breakfast!"

i smiled and watched him at work. he shuffled around the pan a bit before sliding some slightly burned eggs on a plate.

"Ah" he sighed, looking at the sad plate of food. i giggled as he turned and dropped the plate in-front of me, glancing at me as i had to bite my tongue to stop anymore laughter.

"i'm not the best at this." he continued.

"it's okay." a giggled slipped out. "i appreciate it anyways."

könig hummed and and took a long look at me. he then moved away from behind the island, walking around and towards me. i swiveled in the seat to face him, his large stature causing me to crane my neck up to see him. he walked close, very close, to me. i could barely process it before he was practically pressed against me. he looked down at my thighs, they were just barely spread apart as i was sitting down. he brought a hand and nudged them further apart.

what is he doing?!

i obliged- i didn't what else to do and quite honestly i wasn't against this- and könig walked closer to me, just barely a step, as he was now inbetween my legs and his thighs we pressed against the inside of my knees. he was so close i could almost feel his chest against me as he was breathing.

"Schatz.." könig called out lowly.

i met his gaze in response. his sudden close proximity made me feel like i couldn't speak.

"Can i kiss you again?"

my lips parted in shock. i wasn't expecting him to simply ask like this.

i hesitated for a moment before stuttering a "yes".

könig eyes crinkled like a smile, eye gazing over my face for a moment.

könig, putting a gentle hand on my thigh, slowly bent down until he was eye level with me. the cloth of his mask just barely grazed my nose, his eyes finding mine and i could see the blue rings that adorned his pupils. konigs spare hand rose and began to lift the bottom of his mask up. it rose slowly to reveal his jawline, inching up to his lips similarly to how he did the night prior.

and then he kissed me, again.

he was gentle the night prior, careful, but this time it felt more .. urgent. his lips were pressed hard against mine and his hand on my thigh started to clench around my leg. he pulled back just for a moment before placing his lips back.

he kissed me like he was impatient, like he had just been waiting and couldn't possibly anymore
