Once Upon a Time

Chapter 2

‘Good morning sunshine.’ Faith said shrugging Hope awake.

‘Gosh Faith! It’s too early!’ Hope said turning around.

‘It’s pretty late actually.’ Faith said.

‘How late?’ Hope asked turning back around facing Faith.

’10 o’clock.’ Faith said.

‘And I needed to wake you up otherwise you would miss it.’ Faith said.

‘Miss what?’ Hope asked confused.

‘Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Hohope happy birthday to youuuuuu!’ Faith sang smirking.

‘Okay in 3….2….1.’ Faith said and then you heard two screams coming from the hallway, Faith fast sat up straight and looked at Faith who couldn’t stop laughing anymore.

‘Awesome!’ Faith said laughing.

‘What have you done?’ Hope asked.

‘Oh just messed with the one her shampoo and the other one her brush.

‘Faith…. What have you done?’ Hope asked anxiously.

‘I just put bleach in the shampoo and a kind of hair dye with a blue colour on the brush.’ Faith said.

‘FAITH! Are you nuts?’ Hope asked.

‘Er- no…’ Faith said.

‘They are actually.’ Faith said nodding.

Then the door swung open of their room.

‘Holmes, Watson come!’ The boss of the orphans home said.

‘But we didn’t do anything!’ Hope said.

‘I said come!’ She said.

Hope sighed and stood up.

‘I’m sorry.’ Faith mouthed.

Hope shook her head and walked out of their room with Faith following her. They walked down the stairs and sat down in the seats in front of the desk of Mrs Thomson.

‘Girls why?’ Mrs Thomson asked hopelessly.

‘We didn’t do any…’ Hope started.

‘I would never have expected it from you Hope, this really disappoints me.’ Mrs Thomson went on.

‘Mrs Thomson, Hope didn’t do a thing, she didn’t even knew it after I told her when we heard the screams, it was all on me.’ Faith said.

‘Hope is this true?’ Mrs Thomson asked looking at Hope, who didn’t know what she had to say next.

If she told her the truth that would mean harsh consequences for her best friend, if she lied she would be sharing those consequences. Hope looked at Faith and she nodded lightly.

‘No.’ Hope said sighing, after a moment of silence.

‘Mrs Thomson she’s lying just to cover me up.’ Faith said.

‘I swear it was only me!’ Faith said.

‘Watson you need to be really thankful for a friend like her.’ Mrs Thomson sighed.

‘I am.’ Faith said smiling.

‘Okay you can go Holmes, but please don’t lie to me anymore.’ Mrs Thomson said.

‘Please don’t be too angry at her.’ Hope begged the old lady.

‘Don’t worry, just wait on the hallway dear.’ Mrs Thomson said with a small smile.
